It's because it doesn't make any sense to them.

They've heard about the 115 charges against us for financial shenanigans but it doesn't compute.

They've been spending more than we have and they're finishing 15th in the league. None of it adds up and most of them are realising that money doesn't equate to success.

So if money doesn't translate to success and MCFC is being charged for financial discrepancies what is that City are doing that they're not.

Chelsea spend money, Arsenal spend money and even Liverpool spend money so your average rag fan might start to think these charges are just a smoke screen.

It's far too convoluted for them to fathom. They need something more tangible and obvious like City fielding twelve players every game, that would make sense. But all clubs spend money and the rags are the worst off.
They'll be put into administration in the not too distant future.

Annoyingly, he's a really good player. Surprised he didn't go to a team with a shot of winning stuff, he'd have been ideal for Arsenal imo.

He's just about old enough to have grown up with united being relevant so the whole "I grew up dreaming of playing for united" line is something that will die with his age bracket, nobody under 20 has any recollection of united winning stuff which is magical and long may it continue.
1999 is as relevant as 1966 now.
Haha.

National Gaslight a Rag day today

Manchester United are interested in signing French striker Hugo Ekitike, 22, from Eintracht Frankfurt in a potential £85m deal. (Sky Sports)

£85m for a striker that managed 15 league goals in Germany?

They certainly know how to over pay.

Hojlund cost a fortune after he got about 10 goals the season before he joined the rags. They thought he was gonna be another Haaland. They got their pants pulled down with that transfer.

Strikers can certainly improve or end up somewhere they flourish, so you can't write people off but if you are spending £85m on one, you at least want some evidence of them banging in goals for fun.

Ha ha ha every summer it is the same hope that kills them by Christmas

Viktor Gyökeres - 54 goals (13 assists)

Brian Mbuemo - 20 goals (9 assists)

Matheus Cuhha - 17 goals (6 assists)

Bruno Fernandes 19 goals (19 assists)

If these 4 players hit these sorts of numbers next season. You are looking at title contenders. Top 4 and a trophy is a given.
About time we got some players capable of scoring goals...
