Got a lot of backlash for saying good riddance when he left. Good player, best in the world at one aspect but not someone I was ever entirely happy with being associated with the club. Making him captain was laughable
Think the club deserves a lot of credit to have kept the amount of bellends recruited to a minimum. And atleast Walker was very good

Great player and appreciate what he did in a City jersey but I've never understood why he was our captain.
He did stupid shit on and off the pitch so never seemed very smart and he seemed to often berate players for his mistakes.

Wasn't it the players who chose him as Captain? Remarkably bad judge of characters all around if so. Rather the manager or even a director make the choice if that's how bad it is.
Our huge successes have spoilt him - in his head it’s normal to win so many trophies but he was lucky to be in the right place at the right time.
Hate to tell him but if he’d been at spurs they probably would have lost to the rags

I think on the continent, at some clubs , being captain wasnt a huge deal. It was just the oldest/most appearances sort of thing.
Maybe that crept in to the city dressing room
