Best Indian Restaurant in Stockport/Heaton Moor?

The Kush in Heaton Moor was an institution.
Got to the stage where the food was genuinely superb. Ray Carter the Burnage butcher supplied the meat which was excellent. Ray passed away about 10 years ago. The Kush was run by three brothers who were great lads. Sadly the family suffered a bereavement and closed some years ago. Real shame… Lovely family and iconic restaurant.
I knew Ray top bloke.

The last monsoon is fine, eaten there and had their take-aways a number of times. The Crown on the other hand.....used to be a fine real ale pub, then changed ownership. Haven't been in for a couple of years now but the last time it was occupied by a number of scallys, looked like a collection from some OCG crime drama.

Ordered a pint of hobgoblin, turned up slightly darker than lager but not much. Told the barmaid who looked a bit confused, called the manager, "OOH I'm sorry" sez another dodgy looking fella, " we've changed the barrel but forgot to change the pump sign. Ordered another beer, forget which, but it turned up looking and tasting exactly like the last one, ie shite.

Got the impression it was some sort of money laundering set up run by people who hadn't a scooby. Never been back
Good news on the Crown (Heaton Lane) is that the folk from Petersgate Tap (great beer, nice people, a bit "micro") are taking it over and re-opening soon. The Crown was one of the top real ale pubs in the country 20 years ago.

I’m still in touch with Faruk. Spoke to him last month. It was his lad, Jordan that died. Reckon he was 21. Got run over in Levenshulme. Great lad was Jordan. Awful business.

Looking at the reviews for the pyramid it’s a mixed bag - reviews and reviewers.

It’s a slightly odd location, other than being ‘the pyramid’, I would have thought the ideal place would be at the Trafford centre - shop and eat, motorway - but presumably uninspiring buildings/space around/at the TC.

Cant say I’d make it a destination, driving vs local restaurant, and, being stereotypical, I’d prefer to have the availability of a beer - but I can see it appealing to families and stereotypical non beer drinking people.
I agree on the location. Unless you’re driving there it’s quite a difficult place to get to. If you get public transport you’d basically have to walk across a very busy motorway roundabout.

It’s there for people coming off the motorway

Any one tried the Royal Nawaab.in the Pyramid..biggest Indian restaurant in Europe.....looks great for £30.00.

The Pyramid was featured on the ONE SHOW tonight (Fri) .. it looks really impressive inside, with no expense spared, and the owner is also interviewed ...... Lee Mack, Billy Idol and Zara Larsson are also on the programme.

You can catch it on the BBC i player ....

How co-incidental having that on 2 days before Fathers Day. Very timely methinks.

Lol, yeah, i agree it was probably no accident !

I'm sure it said the new owner has spent 15m converting it .... it was once a call centre, and they had old employees from there visiting and talking about the new restaurant venture.
