I am putting down my prediction now. By end of the season, Rico will emerge as City's starting Right Back and will be England's #1 Right bsck at the World Cup.

Just a hunch.

I saw him in practice the other day, he has cut off the mop of hair on his head.

Almost as if he was moving from boy to man in front of our eyes.

Looks sharp and serious. A future Captain.

For those who don't believe yet, tale your time fellas! I'll see you in 2 years when its undeniable :)

I'm with you on this.
My heart is in charge of my head here but I think he's a top prospect.

He'll stay because he is a clever young player.
Think a lot have forgotten quite how good he looked as an inverted right back playing alongside Rodri. Most of last season he was playing beside players hardly coping themselves in the 6. Obviously he needs to develop and not rely on playing with Rodri, but a couple of years with a proper 6 whether Rodri or Gonzalez could well see him be ome a very good player for us.

I have been watching some of our games from last season, and every now and then, I just see something fantastic I missed during the season or something i forgot he did.

Like i was watching the 2,,-0 game against Leicester. I totally forgot about his 1 touch pass' to release Foden for the shot that Savio then scored off the rebound. It was Rodri-esque in the quick thinking, smooth transition/ vision to do that...

Outside of Rodri, I cant name a smarter footballer at the club. He does these tyors of stuff constantly.

I expect a full on breakout this season.

He’ll stay because he’s a Pep favourite but I can’t see him making his mark in the squad next season. Expect to see him sold in 12 months time.

If he was a Pep favourite he'd have been on the FA cup final panel, especially after his performance in the previous match. The one thing about Pep is he has no favourites.
We may like to think he has but he picks the team he wants.
Its up to Rico to perform over the next 12 months but there is a lot of competition.

He was our best player in the semi.

There's no reason whatsoever to even consider selling Rico unless he wants to leave. Usable club trained players are vital to bolster the squad, they can only be replaced if there's somebody better also from the academy.

I think Rico is a limited player destined for a utility role but that in itself is an important and valuable role, the only question is whether he's content with that.

Chosen to stay with City for the CWC than go away to a tournament with England. Love him
Its a pity that the U21's and the CWC clash.I am enjoying what I have seen of the U21 matches so far but would have been even more interesting if Nico G and Cherki along with the likes of Delap were there.
I'm guessing there may have been a few of the Madrid, PSG and Munich boys there too.

Phil Neville vibes. I think within 2 years he’ll get itchy feet and (should) want to move to play more. But I do agree he has a useful squad role to play, and there’s a natural emotional reaction to want to support academy lads.

Lewis barely fits the role of a backup/squad player at City. IMO Lewis is at best Championship caliber.

When playing a game where we don't care if we lose - or coming in as a sub when we're far ahead in the game and we cannot possibly lose, Rico fits in.

The problem with the above is that Rico eats a squad spot. If someone is injured or needs a rest and we need to start Rico in a game that we need to win, possibly against strong opposition - we're fucked. Because Rico isn't good enough.
