There is just no reason . I am just realistic. His comparisons at RB are light years ahead and it’s not about 1,2.3 it’s like 5I have noted that your posts are consistently extremely negative towards certain players. Are you on the wind-up?
I assume that this is another one of those posts. Are you saying that a 20-year-old full international will never play internationally again based on exclusion from one squad? I'm afraid that history is not on your side.
I am very happy to take your bet that Rico Lewis will not play international football again. I will wager that he will. Tenner? Time limit - 5 seasons? There is just no reason . I am just realistic. His comparisons at RB are light years ahead and it’s not about 1,2.3 it’s like 5
Players at least. Tuchel doesn’t play this inverted RB thing Pep does.
I find that odd. Last season he broke into the England squad and was touted as one of the best young players in the league.Bit gutted this looks like the end for rico, I’ve watched him be slagged off here too much. Always thought he was a tidy player since he got a look in, maybe a little short in stature but seemed to have fight . Done more than otheres this season, probably thrive at a Brighton
He probably will be but only because he’s homegrown. Of we could get a few quid for him now it would be handy though.Just because he hasnt played the last 2 games, it doesnt mean he is being sold.
This feels far too reactionary.
He will continue to be a squad player next season.
He'll probably be a squad utility player here as long as he wants too imo.I feel like his future depends on us not signing a RB. If we do, then he's got new RB plus Nunes to compete with for RB, and 6/7 players to compete with for midfield. Even if mcatee and gundogan go say, he's looking at competing with cherki, kovacic, bernardo, Nico G, Nico OR and reijnders for minutes in the 8/10 roles. Could see foden and marmoush getting used there too sometimes. Would think he's at the bottom of that pecking order, maybe excepting Nico OR.
Just can't see where his minutes are coming from, and if that's the case we should sell imo.
I think he could be looking at horrendous minutes next year, might not want to if that's the case. Feels like he mostly lost his battle for places at RB and midfield last year, and now the competition is increasing. He'll probably be a squad utility player here as long as he wants too imo.
Wont know that going in though, come year end he might look elsewhere. Think he staysI think he could be looking at horrendous minutes next year, might not want to if that's the case.
He's quality, IMO, and those condemning him last season were seeking singular scapegoats rather than looking at the bigger picture. Still, that season has gone, and the future looks bright.Hope he stays. Wouldn't mind seeing him play in a team that is functioning better. Pep clearly loves him!
He’s had around 1,400, 1,600, and 3,000 in the previous three seasons, so it’s difficult to imagine such a precipitous drop. Can’t see him getting more than 900 minutes. His positions are stacked especially IF/ When a Livramento or Aina joins.
It's pretty easy to imagine if you look at how many players he's going to be competing with. I fear it will come down to him and O Reilly and I'd rather keep the latter, who is a better player with a higher ceiling. Rico is always going to be small and weak, which undermines his other qualities. He’s had around 1,400, 1,600, and 3,000 in the previous three seasons, so it’s difficult to imagine such a precipitous drop.
If a player were going to be given so few minutes, they would be shipped out instead. We currently have no idea what the final make up of the squad will be, nor do we know how well some have recovered, how well some will adapt, and how many injuries we will pick up again. Saying last year was ‘exceptional’ ignores the fact that the bulk of the workload was shared across fewer shoulders, meaning there may well be more problems this season among those players. Given that and Guardiola’s liking for him, I just don’t see him leaving this summer. It's pretty easy to imagine if you look at how many players he's going to be competing with. Pay attention to the first word that came to mind when describing Rico Lewis.
I have been saying this for years.
