Season ticket holders non attenders numbers

The current management team don't wish to purchase a season ticket.
However, I'm sure there are plenty of city fans who did go to games against York or Lincoln who now can't get a season ticket and would use it for every game.
Those who were at York and Lincoln would have had no problem getting a season ticket then or when we moved to the Etihad. (Even if there were 85,000 at York). I’m not sure why they would think they have the right to take mine if I happen to slip below ten games a season, which I never have before this year.

Despite your son and 100's (100's?) giving up their season ticket City haven't made available a single season ticket for 5 years, I doubt cracking down on abusers will change that-City clearly want to reduce season ticket numbers.
We sit in 202 (padded seats), couple of people next to us gave up their season tickets a few years ago. They rarely sell but when they do people turn up with a barcoded ticket on a piece of paper, clearly City have put them on sale with one of their 5 official resale partners!
There should be no blue on blue in-fighting around this. Any annoyance over the lack of available ST's should be aimed squarely at the club. It is they that control the numbers released and it is they that should be stamping out touting. They are also perfectly capable of identifying those season ticket holders who always fill their seats and those that leave them empty. But hey ho, this ten match attendance rule will certainly improve match atmosphere. Lol.

I'll wait a few months and see how things develop. I still think this whole policy will crash and burn.
I think it will be scrapped due to the North Stand development, as they will have a lot more season tickets to shift. Just as they were always going to lower the match day tickets, regardless of the protests.

I'm not in fighting with anyone and I am squarely putting the blame on the club in respect of both season ticket availability and the resale site policy. There is no bigger tout at Manchester City than Manchester City themselves!

Yes - I also think that the matchday tickets were going to come down regardless.

Compared to the treble season, I think we have now also become much less popular with tourists, which is not good for the finance guys at the club but helps us local fans with prices and tickets. Time will tell... it may be that, with the NS, for a few years things will look normal, at least in terms of prices...

Yes I think the availability of tickets and slow sales at the back end of the season has been an eye opener for the club.

The fact the fans could mobilise/organise protests and the ‘occasional fan’ demand is not a given has made the club think again.

They have been forced to show a bit more respect to the regulars as in 12 months they will have another 8000 tickets to shift.

We love in Ireland and have 2 season tickets.
We can't make Midweek games, or Friday matches. And with Sky increasing the number of matches (friday and sunday nights) we've no chance of getting to 10 games.
It was difficult supporting them in the 90s for different reasons, and the reason the was bought was us.
I didn't see any of the current management team at York or Lincoln.
I’ve sometimes wondered whether a weekend only ST to cover PL and FA Cup games would be a good idea, especially for overseas or distant fans. Conversely they could have a weeknight one for the remaining games. But they’d still need to have some measure of minimum usage.

Unfortunately the further away one lives the harder it will be to attend. Moving away is a big decision that comes with pros and cons.

Given how often games are moved (at far too short a notice) I can't see that happening.

That’s effectively a Flexi ST, without the cup games.

Surely that’s a fair reason to let you keep the ST.. so long as you don’t leave the set empty

You know I may be being a bit stupid or thick but if a SC holder can't make a game themselves I do not see anything wrong if they make sure the seat is used by someone.
Because of my health I struggled last season but my seat was only empty on one occasion when I was taken ill about an hour and a half before the game.
So why is it wrong?

There is, of course, nothing wrong with this.

But the club are looking at it from a commercial point of view. If you transfer your ticket 18 times a season and use it just once, the club see it as they are missing out on the margin between a season ticket price per game and a GA price per game. That multiplied by a few thousand people a game equates to less money in their pocket.

Yep, I guess my problem is I go to games because I love football and City and have no idea of commercial considerations. I'm the daft so and so who has had a Premium Bond from the first week they came out when £1 was a lot of money (I earned £4.50 a week as an office junior) and I still haven't won a penny on it. But I leave it there 'just in case'!!! *lol*

If the ticket goes on the ticket exchange it can be profitable for the club, especially in my case (and I suspect EB’s) when a FOC ticket is sold at the full adult rate, if not corporate

No, that's because you're a tout.
