We already had previous with him for insinuating Sheikh Mansour could fix Champions League games back in the Mancini eraNot what I remember. He set a price, we fucked about.
Jorginho was also apparently in discussion with Sarri and waiting for him to finalise his move to Chelsea and was hoping they would also want to sign him.
Wasn't exactly a big loss.
ADL is doing what is best for his club, as should any chairman. No issues with it tbh.

I never understood this. He set a price and we fucked about all summer trying to negotiate. Same with Koulibaily.

I don't think he did, I think dec is right. While there were indeed reports that we would agree a lower price, that was from the side of the agent or our own reported expectation. His price from memory stayed as set out early.They kept raising it if I remember correctly!
The club do try get players to commit and use that to then play the clock down to see if the price comes down too. Jorginho simply didn't stick with the patience and went elsewhere to a club that did meet their price. Which then was described as us being gazumped. But it is no different to what the Brighton chairman did, or any other club where we negotiated all summer and in the end paid up.
Although Kova's overall footballing brain is flawed he is a much better player than MGW. Same with Gundo both have another season left at City.

One of Kova's strengths is running with the ball from deep, when he loses what pace he has, he'll be getting caught on the ball. Gundo struggles to do anything faster than a jog these days obviously.
It's a big if, but if MGW spends this season with us, learning and adjusting, will he be better than both of them next season?
Being devil's advocate here, because personally I don't see it either tbh...
Kova still has a footballing brain although it is inconsitent and despite being injury prone he can still adapt his game accordingly and still make a good contribution for the coming season. Same with Gundo. MGW is going to be ridiculously expensive for what he is. If we are short in HG numbers, as always it is better to use the Academy for that.Correct, but I'd add the word "currently".

Yeah I agree. Just kind of meaning that if the plan is to sign MGW next season after they leave, then he's got a year of settling in without them here.
I don't think he's the right player for us, but if we're set on him I'd prefer one of them to leave and him to come in this season - then hopefully when the other one leaves at the end of the season he doesn't need bedding in.

I can see him stepping back and joining the coaching team to get his badges and possibly become another Pep influenced decent manager.Still, Gundo is 35 in October.

I just checked on transfetmarket as he is still showing on our website as a City player.Perrone has already gone, £25m to Como iirc
"Despite reports in May, no deal is done or agreed between Como and Man City for Maximo Perrone to join Italian side on permanent deal at this stage.
Como have matching rights and option to extend the loan again, so relaxed with Perrone’s future at the club."
It looks like he is going but no deal finalised as yet.
