Absolutely convinced you're a closet rag.

Although they finished low in the league last season, they've actually been top six in 9 of the last 11 seasons , although outside it for the last two. The signs all point to a team going further into decline.

However, they are a big club and it's not out of the question they'll get back into the top 6 pretty soon.

It's nice to enjoy their decline but once a club of that size get back in those positions, if they do end up getting it right, you can't rule out them being contenders again.

Obviously they're nowhere near the days of Sir Alex, but clubs can decline and bounce back. Liverpool weren't winning league titles for decades until recently.
they have spent 75-80% of their history bumming around mid table or worse.

And liverpool were never in a situation where relegation was a posibility, the rags can easily do a leeds or villla

No.

But there were plenty of legitimate reasons for opposition players to be sent off against us.

We just don't get the same protection that the rags enjoy.
Yep as poor as they are it's a big advantage to be able to dive wildly into tackles to get the ball back with no foul given or no punishment.e.g. Casemiro on Foden was a bad tackle taking homout of the game but of course not highlighted.
The other one I hate is when Rasmus backs into the defender 5 or 10 yards throws himself on the floor the muppets cheer and he gets a free kick. It just can't be

They could

The problem is I think the gap is widening between the newly promoted teams and the rest, it's starting to look an incredible struggle for newly promoted teams to even complete, so i think there will always be 3 teams shitter than them, at least for the foreseeable future

Still, I'm ok to see them floating around the bottom half. In a way, it's even more humiliating, seeing them just be one of those teams that are basically making up the numbers.

I don't because they will be forced to take the steps they need to and accept their predicament. I wish them a long and slow death just avoiding relegation. That way the delusion will remain and they will just bounce along as though they are still a Top 6 club.
I agree.

Relegation would mark the end of "this is Manchester Un$#ed we're talking about."

The pressure will be off them from the media and they'll be giving the time and space to rebuild and quietly regroup under the radar.

Keep the fuckers in the Premier League I say. As long as they're in this division their sycophantic media whores won't be able to resist trying to keep them relevant.

It's almost impossible for them to rebuild and get their shit together under a critical glare of an impatient fan base and the voyeur masses watching their every move.

I think you might be on to something there N1985.

Either that or he/she is the only City fan on this forum that thinks the rags will ever get anywhere near the top four* again.

* I say top four because the big six means fuck all, it never has.

Why would a club like the rags, dippers, tarquins or the chavs want to be in the Europa League?

This top six shite only got traction from the media because we have irreversibly fucked the traditional top four up.

They just finished in the top 15…

They just finished in the top 15…
...incredible achievement, given the resources they have available. Oops sorry, that's all the teams around 15th, other than Spurs. I'll try again.

...very lucky achievement to not be relegated, given the resources they've chucked at the issue to make it steadily worse.

I think they'll be there soon enough.

The main driver of success in football is money. Always has been, always will be. The team with the most outlay usually wins the league.

People don't understand the true incompetence of United's current form. It is a performance level akin to Leicester winning the league but in the opposite direction.

However, football is a problem often solved by money and they have a fuck ton of it. They'll be back.

Exactly!

You've just highlighted why most people on here don't see the rags as a threat anymore.

I would imagine that the newly promoted clubs will fancy their chances against the filth when the campaign starts.

To think; the irony of it. The rags merely points fodder for new boys.

I edited my reply to give a bit more detail
Just read that again.

The thing is though there are better clubs with more money and in a much better position to attract the best players.

Rags will only attract those who solely want to go there for a big wage. Players the top clubs don’t give a fuck about.
