Priced out?

Does anyone know how many PL cat A, B and C games we had last season. Obviously we lost Leicester, Southampton and Ipswich which I assume were all cat C and they will be replaced by Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland which may be one cat A and 2 x cat B?
I don't understand your reasoning on the categories of the 6 named clubs?

I don’t City have had official Category’s. Or at least not for a very long time.

But the flexi prices were in five bands last year, which is probably a decent guide.

5-4-9-1

But the 1 was probably just so the money worked out right and would be in with the 9 really.

I reckon Leeds might be in the middle category. So my best guess would be.

5-5-9.
I think every club should be forced to specify categories in advance. Preferably 6-7-6, but perhaps 6-6-6 with the final game category being based on the importance of the fixture.

Hello, sorry if already posted.

However, i had to give up my season ticket this year after 36 years of being a season ticket holder due to personal reasons. I'm going to join as a match day member and I've had it confirmed my supporter number will remain the same.

1) Will my history as a season ticket holder still remain. i.e. will i be able to buy tickets for Utd, Liverpool etc where previous match history and attendance is required?

2) When do match tickets for the season go on sale? Has this been confirmed yet?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Your history will remain, tickets will go on sale mid July last season there was a window for those games and those with the qualifying history to buy.

It might be part of the plan to reduce the attractiveness of buying a season ticket even if you can't attend a significant amount of matches. There was such a big disparity between the season ticket and match ticket pricing, it was worth keeping on with your season ticket even if you knew you'd be missing a load of matches.
And this was a perfect example of the lack of joined-up thinking by the club on prices.

There should be three options:
1. A season ticket if you know you're going to attend regularly.
2. Flexi-gold if you know you are likely to miss a number of games but want to have the same seat when you do attend.
3. Matchday tickets for occasional attendees.

But, as you rightly say, people held on to season tickets because of the huge price disparity. And our CEO supposedly has an MBA, but it took the fans to point this out.

They did have categories but, as usual with City, they weren't transparent with fans and didn't publish them. I was told we operated a category pricing system. You could see that from the various prices charged though. Kim Jong Un would be more open.

They did occasionally vary the categories, so the last home game has been a Cat A game for the last few seasons, regardless of the opposition. And I think they would charge more for the derby than for the game against Chelsea, despite both being Cat A games.

Even if you Utd's argument is correct, that is a big increase. £5 on £41 is c.12%.

'United officials...expect the average price will be £46, up £5 on last season.'

I presume that includes ST's as the GA prices are £59 - £97 for Cat A going down to £57 - £86 for Cat B & £37 - £60 for Cat C and the cheapest league games. Just adult prices I'd guess.

Omar working his magic at United.

The Rags are putting up ticket prices.

Some general admission seats will be £97.

How would people feel about 1894 (and/or other City fan groups) showing solidarity with United fans in their disgust over these ticket prices?

I’d have no issue with it personally. It would be interesting to see what other posters think.

Never forget that banner. Do they ever show us sympathy?

Just to clarify I have nothing to do with 1894 or any other City fans groups (apart from being an ordinary member of the OSC)

The numbers of " supporters " who attend their matches when their performances on the pitch are so dire, suggests that the rises will not overly affect them.

The demographics of their support is different from most other clubs, dippers possibly excepted, and no-doubt affects their numbers. Hype over cost ?

I'm all for supporters demonstrating solidarity with one another, but it must be reciprocated.
Would United supporters show solidarity with us if it were the other way around, or would they laugh at the empty seats?

United fans have done nothing but snigger and mock our club and fans for my 45 years supporting City. Fuck em and fuck their infested club.
