Priced out?

Even if you Utd's argument is correct, that is a big increase. £5 on £41 is c.12%.

'United officials...expect the average price will be £46, up £5 on last season.'
According to their Supporters Trust (useless) the price rises on cheapest tickets are over 50%! https://www.imust.org.uk/Blog/Entry...d-fans-as-ticket-prices-surge-by-more-than-50

Scandalous, but their supporters groups hate each other and can't work together (unlike ours, thank god) so I don't see them campaigning against it effectively.

I'm all for supporters demonstrating solidarity with one another, but it must be reciprocated.
Would United supporters show solidarity with us if it were the other way around, or would they laugh at the empty seats?
In fairness, that newer group the 1958 did stand with City fans this season before the home derby, as a mutual thing with the national "Stop Exploiting Loyalty" campaign. I reckon it was definitely a bit uneasy, as you can see by where the fans are stood behind that banner!

Lots of years of ridicule and scorn to undo though if we are to be comfortable standing with them. Says a lot it was that group who did it, I can't see MUST doing anything. Only there to feather their own nest.

I saw this on the weekend, from one of the guys behind 1958, which was really interesting... Don't think we'd have seen anyone, let alone a rag, saying this a couple years ago

The biggest flaw in any way that they protest is/was that they only look like they are protesting because they are shit now.

The last protest they had was violent and caused a match to be cancelled.

Last season their prices were £36-£58, regardless of the PL opponent.

Now their Category C prices are £37-£60 and Category A are £59-£97, so that's 67% at the top level.

Yeah definitely. I think one of the reasons (of many) that City's protests got results is that ours started during our most successful period in history, so you can't accuse us of only doing it cus we're not winning anything - like Tottenham started doing this season with their sit-ins and marches.

I know we were relatively a bit shit this season, but I'm absolutely certain this all kicked off when 1894 dropped that "record profits, record prices" banner at Arsenal the season before, and the club sent stewards to take it down, when we were in the running for that unprecedented 4th title in a row. Can't accuse us of only whinging when the going is bad.

The rags are obsessed with marches, I don't understand it. Why do things away from the Sky Sports cameras in the stadium, it makes no sense.

Looks like they kept their prices quite low then while they were rubbish but can’t sustain it any longer. I guess when they “win the title in 2028” the fans will be content again.

Haha.

Jesus christ. I can't help but think how did we let the club make our matchday prices so bad if that's what they were charging in Trafford?

Off top of my head, I'm certain LFC charge fairly reasonably in the Kop aswell.

They’re not celebrating poaching Berrada from us anymore.

The club have made a great decision regarding match day pricing, knowing they are just going to dry bum anyone (tourists) who may have/want to consider a hospitality package. These prices are now CRAZY !

Everton as an example = £320 for a great seat, with a roast dinner buffet and a paid bar.

The EXACT same package for Arse, Dippers, Scum = £599 [emoji15][emoji23]

From a quick look, the dippers are between £44 to £61 for next season. There are some cheaper options but they're extremely limited in number and don't look like places you'd want to sit. I'm fairly sure the £9 ones (yes, £9) are restricted views.

How would people feel about 1894 (and/or other City fan groups) showing solidarity with United fans in their disgust over these ticket prices?

I’d have no issue with it personally. It would be interesting to see what other posters think.
Not a chance.

When it hits at £100 a ticket which isn’t far away then it will be like going to a concert or theatre twice a year . I’ve no love for Utd in general but if they get away from doing this then our club will follow if they still fill their stadium. A dangerous precedent.
Forget history and their banner. My United match going mates it’s all banter anyway. My United mates are disgusted as the dads and sons and being forced out due to cost for the $$$$. Sounds familiar ?

Have they increased much? Never looked before it’s not for me, but I assume they have always sold pretty well, don't think it’s just tourists either probably a few City fans that can afford it use them for special occasions.

United had to reduce their tickets to sell them at the end of last season. United fans weren't paying the £67 increased ticket prices. If the team has another shit season there will be plenty of empty seats at United, especially due to the new more expensive ticket prices.

United said the new £97 match day seats are just 1% of the seats at OT. That's still 740 seats.

As I've posted previously, Omar is slowly bringing in City's ways of selling match day tickets to United.

The £9 are in all areas of the ground, but restricted to juniors with certain postcodes (definitely L postcodes, maybe some others)

We went for lunch in Lyme Regis today, it was nice, my wife had a crab salad and I had a veggie salad. I had a pint of cider and she had apple juice. Then coffees. £54. Is it really that relatively expensive to go to a football match in comparison?

Whinge when we're winning,
We only whinge when we're winning.
