It perhaps makes a difference in that he’s Pep’s choice rather than the players. But I get the impression that Pep sees the role as be ing more about off the pitch leadership than being the leader on the pitch.

Bernardo? He has hardly set the world on fire for the last 2 seasons. Don't get me wrong, he should be setting the world on fire and leading by example, but he is a clear drop off performer after the treble.
