North Stand Construction Discussion

When do we think we’ll see the sails installed? Will it be one of the final pieces of work once the rest of the construction has been done?

Could be a make or break situation as I think it’s now looking good anyway with the glazing and darker trim added.

They should have built 5 a side pitches on top of the hotel and museum side. Not tacky ones. Decent ones with fancy lights. Adds to the football theme.

Aerial night shots of a game being played at the Etihad and 2 street games on top of the hotels.
Stone is a bit boring.

From New Civil Engineer above.

"We are doing one [pair of rafters] every four days because there’s a lot of preparation to detach it from the tension cables above,” Kasher says. “We’ve got the pitch for six weeks and then we have to give it back to the groundsman to prepare for next season. So, over six weeks, we’ve got to strip the unbraced bays, get six of these pairs of rafters out and perform all demolition on the pitch so we can remove the pieces.”

Will be more punters from the arena, there will be lots of conferences and other events at the stadium that will involve overnight stays Hotel occupancy in Manchester is high so will be plenty of demand
Probably a free "shuttle bus" to town.

Watching the latest clips and seeing the installation of a new big screen , it's BS that the rags and scousers cant install one , wasn't it a prerequisite to VAR being rolled out ?

Nah a new line in hospitality, innit? Probably a grand per game (warm coat not included).
I've been told it's a diving board, and it's part of the new North stand, match day, experience for next season.
Well I've been told they are running a zip line from it to the car park for the early leavers.
