All ifs and buts this early in the tournament
They lose and they could be out.
It's hard to know which side of the draw we would want to be on.
 
Marmoush is bound to start. Otherwise, he would have replaced Echeverri last night or been subbed on in the 2nd half. The same might be true of Doku, but to a lesser extent.

Marmoush is only behind Haaland in the pecking order in attack. Foden should show more to displace him.

It's certain that we want to avoid Real. Otherwise, we wouldn't have tried so hard in the end to score 7 last night.
 
knowing Pep's mentality to an incredible extent, and the fact that he is a daredevil without any desire to take any risks I guess this is how they could start the match

This is lightweight defensively vs. top teams. Foden and Cherki are not the hardest workers off the ball, the FBs are too attacking, Reijnders and Bernie are not enough in CM.

First proper test in this tournament and will give a better picture of the team atm. Hopefully will grab a win this time over them and win the group. Need to be more clinical in fron of the goal and Juventus have some great forwards to cause us trouble.
 
Obviously we would prefer Salzburg or Al Ilhal, every team would.
I doubt any team wants to play Madrid.
The poster I was replying was saying Madrid may top their group but they can't take the chance of playing for a draw.
If we end up runners up in our group and win our quarter final ( Madrid?) we would play winners of Dortmund group/ 2nd place from inter group.
Currently, and can all change, PSG, Milan, Bayern and Juventus are all on the opposite side were we to come second.
 
Looking at the 2 sides of the draw, it would probably be best for us to finish 2nd. Most probably face Madrid but other than Inter it’s a relatively easier run to the final. Compare that to Bayern/Chelsea/PSG/Dortmund on the other side if we win the group.

I watched Real Madrid beat Pachuca 3-1 with 10 men and I think it's unlikely that Salzburg will get a result against Real Madrid. You never know though. There have been some surprises.

Alternatively if Pep either (a) decides we're through and winning doesn't matter or (b) goes full Pep
