The Loch Ness monster

Loch Ness is deep, cold, and largely lifeless.

From an ecological point of view, there isn't enough stuff in the water to sustain much life of any sort, let alone a monster needing tons of food every week to sustain itself.

I suppose there isn't much opposition from the locals in dispelling the myth, but the North West of Scotland is a beautiful part of the world to visit in its own right.
There's a gaping flaw in your reasoning. Well known amongst us locals that Nessie feeds off the migratory Haggis that swim across the Loch to head South in the run up to Burns night each year.

After that, as a cold blooded gal, she just chills for most of the rest of the year, only taking the occasional English tourist as a snack if she gets a bit peckish.

I watched a documentary about this last night. It was an American made one and I have to say, after listening to the experts, and locals and eyewitnesses and cryptozoologists that appeared on the programme, that there’s a lot of fruit-loops in this world.

Apparently there are about a dozen lakes between two lines of latitude in the northern hemisphere (Loch Ness being one of them) with these mysterious 100ft monsters who “have the ability to just disappear from view”.

Riiiggghhhttttt!

as David Attenburgh will concur.

I've seen the monster. It was back in 85.
I wouldn't want to be interviewed on tv or anything so I've never told anyone before.

It's big and black, rather long. With big eyes. Scary thing to see.

Been watching a few nutters on you tube who believe in it.
What do you think?
It's obviously a load of shite, most of the pics are just logs and suchlike.
I reckon the locals (who have all seen it obviously) perpetuate the myth
With much of the Oceans still to be explored it’s ripe for certain tourism groups to maintain a belief in “Nessie”, that’s all it is a bit like a Pub ghost, it’s a trick of the light on the mind.

Would it have been wearing the ubiquitous kilt and Tam O Shanter set off at a jaunty angle by any chance. Most I've seen do.......
