PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The PL moves the goal posts for them so they don't break the rules. Ridiculous.

They and their chums in Merseyside are the Premier League, they lobbied to start the whole gravy train up back in 1992 and got themselves a bigger chunk of the TV money than the likes of what City did. When they both as clubs can decide who the ceo of the league is it shows what a bent farce of a competition it is.

Their bullshit charges are a desperate attempt to try and wipe the club off the map as they have seemingly been found wanting trying to compete with City since 2008.

The reason why Man Utd have not breached the Premier League's PSR requirement (£105m loss over 3 years) despite published losses of £330m over 3 years is now apparent (https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6402367/2025/06/05/manchester-united-psr-red-football-limited/).

Utd's PSR accounting is based on their UK subsidiary Red Football Ltd which crucially does not include their takeover costs and full finance costs relating to the Glazer debt pile. Red Football's loss in 2023-24 was £36m, £95m less than their plc based in the Cayman Islands.

I feel that this breaks the spirit of the PSR rules if not the rules because the PSR test should surely reflect the entire costs of running the football club and Man Utd are not doing that. The Premier League and the BBC and the Football media know this. They make no comment on this. I regard this as farcical. I wonder what fans of clubs like Everton, Forest and Manchester City think about this.

Does anyone else find this highly questionable? How can the Premier League accept a set of accounts that do not entirely reflect the football-related activity of Man Utd?
Don’t have any social media myself but has anyone put this to that twitter lunatic(s) to see what he’s got to say about it?

Or people to moderate it and keep it on topic

On topic? It has 106,000 posts in it. What would you like us to do? Delete 100,000 posts for you?

There's no news. There has been no news for months. There will be no news until there is and you won't find out about it first from this thread. People have started using this thread as a general chat thread vaguely around City and the financial situation which often veers off into memes and irrelevances and frankly, most people seem to like not being constantly moderated.

This has been repeatedly and consistently stated for about a year now. If it's not for you then fine, you have other options. But the position has been made clear over and over and over again

So we will know soon then?

I get there’s no news and it’s ok to post what people may or may not think will happen and have a debate about it.

But to be chatting about stuff that has nothing whatsoever to do so ever about the charges the mods ain’t doing their job simple as that

You wouldn’t need to delete 100,000 posts if those stupid topics in the thread were nipped in the bud as soon as they started

If there’s no news let the thread drop down the forum until there is news

Well the mods have decided to be more laissez-faire than usual with this thread. You can disagree but unless Ric has a change of heart then it's not going to change so it's not worth you getting annoyed about.

this thread moves in mysterious ways....

The best part is somebody may post a thread about something weird and wonderful and a mod will merge it with a thread from about 15 years ago that may be tediously linked to it. Yet it is a free for all here.

Then stop posting about it and complain to Ric if you don't like mod's decisions.

You know, like the Rules say that you want us to implement stricter.
