You have to say this England side has got some balls. India probably felt in pole position for four days but England just fought like tigers.
This India side is really good so the win is way up there with England’s best triumphs.
A great match and a fantastic win.

That's a fantastic win. I remember some gobshite on here questioning why India batted as long as they did yesterday evening, as England were never going to chase down 350+.
I’m sure that was yourself, anyway I didn’t think England would chase down 371, don’t think many on here did.

Actually, choosing not to be facetious for once — it was a perfectly fair calculation based on the weather forecast. If a big chunk of the day had been lost to rain, 320 to 350 would have looked a daunting task. Certainly the Indians would have been forgiven for thinking it would probably ensure the draw. Which is not a bad result, when you're on foreign soil and at the start of a five-match series. And allow them possibly to go for the win, knowing that England will always try to chase anything, these days (and throw away wickets while doing so — although not today!)

When you're 430/3 in your first innings, you really shouldn't be losing the game. To only get 471 in that innings was hugely short; they must have been looking at 600. That allowed England back in the game.
