Tino Livramento

The two caveats in my guess list are Nunes & Kovacic. I think they'll be the last ones considered for the chop, once we know who's definitely surplus to requirements & who will definitely remain. It all comes down to squad numbers & our foreign & HG quotas.

However, Pep can't have it both ways. He wants to win the 4 main competitions we're in season after season, but do it with a tiny elite squad whilst complaining there's too much football being asked of our players.

It's simple. Tell the players they'll receive ample game & rest time throughout the season. Personally, if my game time fell from 50 to 40 games per season just like everyone else in the squad, as we fight on multiple fronts, not including internationals, you wouldn't catch me complaining.
It's not really about the number of games, but which games. We all know that if you're playing a midweek Carabou Cup tie against Chesterfield when there's a game against Liverpool at the weekend, it says something about your status in the squad.

It's no difference to now then. I suppose appearances in the biggest games will be determined by form & the position we're in, in terms of winning as to whether a player will make the subs bench & come on to rotate.

An appearance could also be down to a tactical switch, as we saw with Doku coming on against tired legs.

Just switched the u21 game on at the exact moment he was getting absolutely skinned - has his qualities but prime Walker he is not
Elliot Anderson really does look quality. Forest will do well to hold onto him. He ran that U21 game tonight. He also had a solid season in the PL. I rate the lad.

It's pretty obvious.

City have kept tight-lipped and so have Newcastle, neither wanting to quash it.

If the price is right, let's see?

Can't see us agreeing on price unfortunately. If we baulked at the Wirtz numbers surely we don't go to the £70 million plus Newcastle will want

Prime Walker wasn't prime Walker at 22 years old, in fact he'd just gone back to Spurs after being on loan at both Villa and QPR in the same season
Yeah, he’s a lot further ahead than Walker was at that age. Probably already better on the ball than Walker ever was too. Yes, nobody could match Walker for one on one defending especially from half way. This lad is an excellent defender though.

This whole shtick about squad harmony related to game time is bollocks. If everyone plays 40+ games per season, & gets the same amount of rest, what's there to be upset about in the changing room?

I never want to see situations again like Rodri being out on his feet after 60 mins at the Etihad, as we're beating a relegation threatened team 4-0. How many times has Pep left it until 75+ minutes to start making changes whilst those playing are being rinsed to death in their 3rd march of the week? There's absolutely no need, & last season we paid the price as our players collapsed, physically, mentally & emotionally.
I agree with everything you said. It’s very logical but need I remind you, Alvarez had the most mins in our team during the 4Peat. He played more than Foden, Rodri and Ederson. And guess what ? He still wasn’t happy because he missed the last few games when we secured the league. Started 31 games btw and we would sub him off at the 75th min. And he left to play every single game/min. Now he’s crying that the team he’s in isn’t competitive but that’s not important rn.

Just pointing out that there’s players are obsessed with football. It’s a short career. Even worse when they’re older. That’s why players like Gundo refuse to leave and still think they’re at the level. Walker didn’t know he was washed until this season.

I don’t know what we’d spend on Livramento or if Newcastle would sell him,but do know one situation isn’t related to the other. We had a better alternatives to Wirtz IMO getting Cherki and Reijnders and Ait Nouri was a better spend of the money. We may or we may not have alternatives to Livramento we will set a budget depending on what our alternative choices are.
