9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

I don't know about other posters but I am basically exclusively referring to his last 6 months. In which he's not scored so many goals at all. His movement and positioning has been diabolical. Before that it was elite and was the reason for his lethality.
Other things happened last season which affected how the team plays.

Yep, remember when he was injured and we won the treble and then the league the next season? Thank god he was injured all that time.

History. Recent and current form is what matters.

I'm not saying that Haaland is a 'weak link' or anything like that, but there's no denying that his performances have dropped off over the last 12 months.

Expectations have been too high. Hopefully, he'll soon get back on track with our new lads around him.

He'll be fine. Some saying or other about form and class etc. Also, he's not stopped scoring - 31 goals isn't a bad return for anyone. I agree, he perhaps set standards too high. Anyway, we play to his strengths - speed, strength, timing of his runs...he'll score many many more. Of all the things to be worried about (and there are a few) he's right down the bottom of my list.

I don't know how many times i have to say this, but I was referring to the last 6 months. Nothing of my criticism of erling applies to a time period before that. I am living in the present, you live in the past.

has he turned a page on his performances? Because for me his level of performance over the past 6 months, including his very last, are basically roughly the same
and you appear to have specifically chosen the last 6 months because it's the only bit of his past that fits your argument, to the point you're telling others that anything before then is history. I'm simply pointing out that the past 6 months is also history

I think 6 months is a reasonable cutoff point given that this is when his performances declined and have stayed around the same level since. why is that controversial?
