Juventus (N) | CWC | Post Match Thread

Good to watch and a very convincing attitude and performance. Juve weren’t top notch but we didn’t let them build anything. Doku was solid and I have been amongst his biggest critics. Ait-Nouri is excellent and will be a huge influence on the way we play. Nunes was superb as was Bernardo and haaland’s movement and ball control was miles better than all of last season. Disappointed in Ederson but it didn’t matter in the end. If savinho can grow a pair of bollocks and go into a challenge I’d be delighted and he’ll become a better Player for it. Took his goal extremely well though.

Well done blues, that must have felt good for the team.

You are correct and on a post match thread you can say if a player did something good or something bad, same on the player performance ones. Some are positive some are negative. Imho the place is better for it with most sitting inbetween the extremes.
Thank god its not that awful scouse cult forum.
Ive been praising Nunes for ages and he's playing well so those fuckers slating him are gonna get it:-) it's not personal its just a forum.

I actually quit cigs years ago but if we bump into each other I will get you a pint instead.
I started smoking two years ago. Ridiculous.

Shame this is all such a waste as Liverpool have the 11 best players in every position, the best manager in the world and have already won next season's title and the quad. We can only dream of what might have been ;-)
I certainly think we have the best panel but liverpool have some top players.
Wirtz and Kerkzee are improvements.
arsenal don't seem to have improved their squad so far and I think its going to be a shoot out between ourselves and liverpool.
Our signings so far look top notch and, barring a load of injuries, we should take the title back.

He hasn't closed a goal keeper down with the intensity he did when he came on since he first joined us, generally he half arsed jogs towards them and gives them plenty of time to clear it.
To be honest, I think that's what all other strikers do. We're comparing him to what he used to do.

Having said that, unless there is a genuine chance of reaching the ball (the minority of occasions) what's the point in wasting energy on repeated lost causes?

I don't how old you are, but Jimmy Greaves famously didn't do any of the long runs in training. He said that as long as he was the quickest over 10 yards, that was all that mattered. And he was 'quite good'.

Once Erling can reasonably expect the ball to arrive (and the signs are good), I'm optimistic that his natural instincts will resurface, and he'll be leaving defenders in his wake again. It's human nature for him to have had it beaten out of him, after the number of fruitless runs he was making last season.

Personally I wouldn't dream of swapping him for any other striker on the planet.

Yes. Never touched them. Family trauma and used one 2024. Not on 20 a day or anything but there become a weekend thing

They’ll be gone soon.

Never heard anyone taking it up so late in life, if you can fuck it off. My damage is done you can avoid that if you nip it in the bud now.

Will be healthier and wealthier, good luck.

6 million for 3 wins , 7.5 million for reaching the last 16, and 39 million for playing in it. That's USD so equates to 43.5 million GBP. That's why it was important to make sure we did well in this when CL qualification looked ropey in April and May. Now it's just more money in the
We need to get our act together for the next CWC tournament. We don't want to do a Barcelona and fail to qualify for it. Our results in the champions league last season have us outside the qualifying for the next CWC
I know there's plenty of time but you don't want to give arsenal and liverpool a headstart.
Winning the PL means nothing for the CWC, its all about standings in the Champions league.

That's what I was saying during the PL campaign. Made more sense to get players right for this tournament than chase shadows in the league, where there's only something like 5 million difference per place, if that.
Probably correct, but soulless and a tad depressing to think of football in these terms.

Tonight's a time for revelling in hammering a top European side. Fuck the financial side of things for the moment.

Glorified friendly, my arse. They wanted to win this.

Not even Darwin Carroll nor Rasmus Birtles?
