Will we win the league this season?

If we can massively improve our chances conceded and defending , i think there is a pretty good chance to win it again. Not sure it will happen and in a 2 months time there is a clearer picture of how city will play this season. I really hope to win it this season ,but if i had to bet money on it ,id say not yet this season.

I'm unsure if the CWC is a good thing or a bad thing for us.

Liverpool are not in it and can rest up all summer. We will have a very disturbed summer although it does give an opportunity for some of these new signings a chance to get involved straight away in fairly low pressure games.

Having a decent LB will be a big plus. We need to ship a few out from the rest of the squad. There is some really exciting new players in there but we need to shift the deadwood.

Imagine if we wont it or got to the semi-finals? Last season we lost our fear factor. We could re-gain it in this tournament. We also might yet further erode it though I don't think so.

We get the opportunity to bed in players and staff. Cherki, Reijnders and Ait-Nouri will benefit a lot from playing and training. I imagine that it is a more intense environment than a normal league season.

I keep seeing Liverpool being touted as favourites for the title. In 2025, in all competitions, they have W15 D6 L8. Our form over the same period was better. I think City will be well placed for a title tilt. Bring on the 2025/26 season.

If we get Costa (or Chevalier) + Livramento = yes
If not then no but 2027 is going to be our year just like 2023 was, I can feel it. We'll win PL + UCL in 2 years.

Way too early to say, positive signs from the CWC but we were so far off our levels last year across the board its hard to judge. Having said that, we are undefeated in 10 in the league, even though we were not great, so it will probably come down to the games against the other contenders (and actually beating the scum).

Assuming injuries are not a significant factor, we’ll be close. However, we need to prioritise the League and not spread ourselves thin across other competitions, no matter how appealing they might seem. Rotating regularly and using the 5 substitutes in all games, and earlier in them, will boost our chances.

My confidence is increasing, but I won't be coming out from behind the settee until we're 10 points ahead and 6-0 up in the dying seconds of time added on, in the last game of the season :)

Pep? Using 5 subs? In the one game? Hmmm.

"Nurse; the patient in the end bed hasn't taken his medication."

;-)

In answer to the question in the thread title; it's certainly possible. Our new lads seem to be settling in okay. But it can't be overlooked that having Rodri and Bobb back is like having two more new players. Also, injuries will be key. Last season was ludicrous. At one stage, it seemed like some of the Mary D's mob might have been in with a shout of getting a game.

‘End bed’, indeed; private room in this sanatorium if you mind. He’s used all five in the last three games, so maybe the times they are a-changing, but I’ll return to my tincture just in case.

We can definitely win it, my concerns aren't necessarily other teams, but how the squad will cope with the quick turn around after the Cwc. I just feel we might run out of legs towards the end of the season, especially if we go far in the Champions league. I think we are in for a full on rollercoaster ride of a season.
