Erm I still have one aswell but in my defence
All the kids when they were young are on vhs transferred from camcorder.
I know I can transfer em again to disc or whatever but I never get round to it.
No need to build a defence mate, VCRs are ace, like the visual version of vinyl, and they're cool, right?

(I've also got a betamax player in the loft due to all my old city videos which I used to record off the tele being on that format, much like your camcorder stuff. Far superior in quality to VHS, but I can't connect it to any "new" TVs as I need some sort of special lead and I CBA searching around for one, one day I'll get round to it - maybe :)

Conor McNamara has the good grace and common decency to be a Limerickman.

When he first got a breakthrough with BBC Radio, he used to claim to be a City fan.
This was back in pre-2008, when we were doomed to be perpetual also-rans. He doesn't talk about his allegiances quite so much now.
I don't know if he still is a blue (or indeed if he ever really was one and naming us was just professionally advantageous).
I do know blues were few and far between in the Limerick area back in those days (more now but far from a huge leap in numbers) and Conor and I never crossed paths. (That said, I'd be a good bit older than him, so it might have been odd if we did at that age).
He never was, liverpool cult fan. Though he’s certainly a good professional and rarely lets his personal preferences show

I don't go on the BBC sports website, I still use ceefax/teletext on my TV.

Top story "Real Madrid beat RB Salzburg to reach CWC last 16" and the last story is "Ugly scenes as Inter beat River Plate to reach CWC last 16"

Nowhere in between is there a single mention of us on there. Last night was clearly a figment of my imagination.

Even at our lowest point were we ever as fucking bitter as those childish knobs at rag central Salford? Bitter childish cunts!
TRAFFORD!!! We who have to pay our Council Tax to Salford resent being classed with Trafford United I’m afraid. :-) JMHO

So this is totally sums up the bbc complaints procedure. Totally not fit for purpose. I’ve had some pretty generic, rubbish replies recently but this tops the lot. Not only have they not answered any my points, they clearly didn’t read my complaint. The two referenced articles that were posted AFTER the game, were nothing to do with the lack of live coverage of the game, or the question I posed about simple Simon’s live feed of the rags friendly. This is proof if any was needed that the BBC can do what they want, when they want, and there is nothing we can do about it. Absolutely no point in replying to them. What a shit country we live inView attachment 161326

But we can afford to send Simon Stone et al on all expenses trips to the Far East to cover meaningless friendlies. What a joke the BBC are….

Will stone be going to the states to cover the premier league summer games … featuring the rags, Everton, Bournemouth and West Ham ( incidentally sky are covering this too! )

You must have a lot of time on your hands.

You know full well he’ll be on an all expenses paid jolly to write another pile of horse shit.

Clear and obvious .

The BBC has a broadcasting contract with the PL .

He who pays the piper calls the tune .

Well that was my main question to them - which they failed to answer

ESPN: Guardiola has been keen to tell everyone that this is a fresh start and a clean slate with last season's disastrous campaign placed firmly in the rearview mirror.

Disastrous. Ffs. Bet these cunts never described the 7 times Liverpool finished 3rd in the PL as disastrous.

No, because 3rd place, if you're Liverpool, is really topping up your level of achievement satisfaction.

It’s just not fair….. utterly pathetic.
Emyln begley is generally ok. Ie neutral.
That piece is very different to his normal output.
It’s as though he’s been told to do a hatchet piece on City (and to a lesser extent Chelsea), but has written it in a style that toes the cartel party line but is obviously not what he wants to write.

As you say, it’s just not fair. No mention of the fact that us & Chelsea earned the right to be at the CWC.
Or fail to highlight why the PL clubs are getting higher participation fees than the Brazilians, amongst the others, mainly because of the much higher profile of the PL.

None of that really matters. It's a competition with its own rules.

But I don't remember ever seeing an article about how the CL money compares to the PL on a comparable per game basis, or to the FA Cup.

The money train started years ago and it wasn't City or Chelsea's fault. Or FIFA's.
