The PL averaged 40,400 last season.
By the end of the CWC, the average attendance is likely to be above 41000, even though it's related to the bigger US stadiums.
Overall, the games at the CWC are likely to have higher average attendance than any of the best leagues in Europe...
Average attendance in the CL 24/25: 44,000.
It’s a good way of putting it.
By the time we get to the final, and taking an average….every game would have filled Stamford Bridge.
The stadiums in USA are huge.
City fans turning into empty seat spotters and pointing a finger is ironic to say the least. The amount of money people have spent getting there and staying there and travelling between locations is huge.
For its first iteration the competition has greatly exceeded my expectations to the extent that, when it’s over, I’ll miss it.
I know a lot of blues just want to see us domestically beating the usual suspects….I do too, but this has been a nice change, something different.
As long as they keep it to once every 4 years I’ll always look forward to it..even if we aren’t in it.
Remember we are the defending champions. I want that gold patch to stay on our shirt for the next 4 years…if only to piss off Liverpool who only got to wear it for a handful of games.
I’m taking nothing for granted, but we are the only team to win every game and have a more than reasonable draw as a reward.
4 wins away from history whether we like it or not.
As soon as we are knocked out I expect a fair share of our fans will not be bothered and look forward to playing “real football” against Burnley. That sounds like I’m taking the piss…because I am, but I do understand it too!
