Bernardo and Gundo look much better than they did over the whole of last season. Don’t know why Pep still insists Akanji is capable of playing right back though.

Gundo looked good at the end of the season but I thought he was back to early season Gundo in this game, just wasn't in the game.

Bernado still has it, but Ilkay, Akanji, Nunes, Ake and Stones are either past it, not good enough or not likely to be fit.

Honestly we had really bad luck today. FH we should be 3-4 up. Not having Gvardiol at his best, and Rodri at his best hurts us, but it should be fine. Nunes is really good, I think Khusanov should play if we are gonna play with this high-line.

Shocking team selection again. Getting rid of Akanji is the most important thing we could do in the summer. Gundogan, Ederson and Bernardo should all be going too, it shouldn’t be up to Pep who had become totally blind on some of his favourites

I thought the team selection was fine. We created four 1 v 1s in the first half and they cleared another off the line.

Gundo was fine. Bernardo was good. Savio was hot or miss. It happens. Shouldn't be losing to Al Hilal, but hey :(

Nobody is concerned about us going forward. We will score goals against every team we play.

Defensively though we are seriously lacking and will be lucky to get top 4 playing like that.

It's why Spurs finished 17th. They were top 6 scorers in the league last year but defensively cost them immeasurably.

We spent £60m on two CBs in January yet neither can get a game for some reason.

Sure, but against Juve it was 90 minutes. I think we are just mentally weak right now, and their early goal really screw our confidence. I think the 45 min from today would be our best 45 min from last season.

As I said, I understand people are emotional, but I think it was a really positive showing and with Gvardiol and Rodri at their usual level, this wouldn't happen. Clearly our exoerienced Cb are not good enough though.

He put him on to play a back 3 and push RAN up the wing. They countered by playing wide wingers and forcing us to either play FBs or pay the price on the counter.

Pep chose the latter.
