Important he signs a new deal if he is staying. It’s interesting to note all the guys with 1 year on their deal are running their contracts down and want to stay. I guess it gives them better options in a year and gets them a bigger singing on fee!

Too expensive and why would he go from being a PL no 1 keeper to a no.2.
Would have been great a year or two ago but he had a fantastic semi last year.
Newcastle are supposedly trying to get him in as their no 1
 
There was an awful lot of smoke around Goalkeepers before the CWC.

I wonder if we have called around about a few, and given Eddie only has a year left on his deal, I wonder if one of these options had already been in the works.
 
Ederson seems to be more erratic (which we all do) when there is talk about his future? I know he said he is staying but behind the scenes maybe he’s told the club he won’t sign a new contract and the club aren’t interested in letting him leave on a free?

If there is a confidence issue surrounding the " goalkeeper choice" be it Eddie or Ortega, I would hope that we are proactive and make the decision if a suitable candidate is recognised.
 
Ederson is more exposed than any other time in his career at City the amount of possession we always had he had very little to do but now are defence is actually slowing down due to age and fitness issues he’s being found out more. Never a great at penalty saves his distribution was was unbelievable but lately even that has caused us problems so maybe it is time to look elsewhere.
 
He is defintely good for one more season. The last thing is having to bed in a new goalkeeper under Pep. It was bad enough with Claudio Bravo although he did prove an able deputy; and we won trophies with him in goal.

He would be our no 1 within a season at most.
