Anybody joining the NEW Old Labour Party? Jezzer & Sultana having a tiff over who's gonna be the big cheese but Sky News still summoned Momentum founder James Schneider to crack the launch champers lol. Ed the Red will be smiling in his Zero dept along with a few on here.

They are doomed before they start. Just another set of ideologues like Reform. The last thing the country needs.
I expect they’ll be well versed in brass rubbings of man-hole covers.

They will strip Labour of votes in the exact same way Reform has stripped the Tories.

The Tory party and the Labour Party only have themselves to blame!
I agree with this.

Had the Tory Party not fought tooth and nail to reverse Brexit, had they not presided over horrendously high taxation levels, had they stuck to Tory principles, Reform would be mere fluff - an irrevance - were they to exist at all.

Ditto had Labour stuck to Labour principles, they would not be in the political mire they are currently in. Personally I am glad they haven't and glad they are in the shit, but that doesn't change the fact.

If this ultimately gives Reform an in then I think that could be the worst possible outcome for just about all of us. Give me a competent Labour or Tory government over Reform any day of the week so no, I don't think it's in our interests to want Labour to implode just as it wasn't in our interests to want the Tories to implode.

Excellent. Purges the LP of all the Galloway-adjacent loony radical Islamists, anti-semites and UK-haters, and puts them in one convenient box where a close eye can be kept on them.

Ultimately everyone within the bounds of legality should have a party to vote for that broadly reflects their views . Its up to other parties to earn those votes not get them out of fear

Not sure what Corbyn expects to achieve. Labour were unelectable when he was the leader. Look at the 2019 election. The conservatives were deeply unpopular, with civil war within the party due to Brexit. Yet Boris lead them to a landslide win; an 80 seat majority. The electorate just didn't seem to trust Labour with Corbyn, McDonnell, Abbot etc etc in the higher positions in the party. Plus, he's 76 now; well and truly in FOC territory. Time for the pipe, slippers and Werther's originals Jezza.

Like I said earlier he got more votes than Starmer did. Less voters trusted Labour in the last election.

But way less seats than Starmer. Labour won nearly two thirds of the seats last year (one year ago today, actually) with one third of the vote. Which is utter madness. But that's the system that's used in the UK (the "first past the post" system). Until some form of PR is introduced, you'll continue to get these freak statistics.

Yep I posted about that as well, at the end of the day corbyn and that Labour party got mores votes than Starmer twice. The first time it was not even close, millions more votes but 100s of seats less. Madness.

Starmer is like Southgate very lucky with who he faced. Fortunately for Keir he never met a France or Spain. More like Moldova and the Faroes:-)
