To save me the arsehole of typing it out on my phone I've copied and pasted from AI ..this is fact not made up shit... I always do it, we have some humdinger storms here in the tropics !!There was a genuine risk and still is a risk with a landline, it's rare but it can happen. Nobody unplugs their TV anymore when there is an electrical storm surely?

Yes, it's a good idea to unplug your TV during a storm, especially if you're expecting lightning. Unplugging your TV can protect it from power surges caused by lightning strikes, which can damage the device. While surge protectors can offer some protection, they are not foolproof and a powerful surge could still bypass them.
Reasons to unplug:
What to unplug:
- Protection from power surges:
Lightning can induce powerful electrical currents in power lines, which can travel to your TV and damage its components.
- Surge protectors are not perfect:
While surge protectors can help, they are not always able to handle a direct lightning strike.
- Safety:
Unplugging also removes the risk of electrical shock from a lightning strike.
When to unplug:
- Unplug the TV from the wall outlet.
- If your TV has an antenna cable, unplug that as well.
- Consider unplugging other electronics as well, such as computers, gaming consoles, and other appliances.
- During thunderstorms: If you see lightning or hear thunder, it's best to unplug your devices.
- Before a storm: If you know a storm is approaching, take the precaution of unplugging your electronics.
I met the woman who did Muffin in a hotel bar in Wilmslow many years ago. She engaged me in conversation on the basis that she was famous and I must know who she was. ( I didn’t and had to deduce who she was from her ramblings.) She was pissed and complaining that the Beeb had let her down by discontinuing the prog some years before.Mu
Muffin the mule was a kids favorite back in the day, now it carries a custodial sentence!!
Who else enjoys finding ways of re-using tin foil?
Wonder if that will grant me honourary status...........
Oh fuck I'm already half way there aren't I........... :-)Tin foil baking soda and white wine vinegar brings tarnished cupro-nickel coins up a treat.

We had that on a 78, along with "Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen," and "Davy, Davy Crockett".The memory is fading now but I seem to remember going on holiday to

That young man who kissed a girl ‘unexpectedly’ would be charged with sexual assault these days.
