It's Quiet the £250m return

Strong interest from Nottingham Forest for James Mactee.

Cheeky bastards put a £80m label on MGW. Maybe there's a deal to be struck if we're still interested.

I doubt this Summer but if they agree to a lower/more reasonable fee next Summer.

FWIW, I'd still love to have him here. Think he'd excel here!

It’s barely any higher than Liverpools or Arsenals high lines so that isn’t a thing. Its also no higher than the high lines that we won everything with.it’s all a out pressing off the ball , we saw in the CWC how much better we can be at that in spells, especially when Rodri was the pitch. Once these new players have got used to each other the press and our defensive line will be fine just as it was previously.
Unless you are one of those just picking out negatives from the CWC , like ahandfull on here. Not saying you are.

I think the difference between us , and those two Arsenal and Liverpool is they have a settled centre back pair / defence we don't. Van Dijk and Konate is always going to be the partnership for Liverpool, Saliba and Gabriel is the partnership for Arsenal.

We've got multiple it's hard to build chemistry when the centre back partnership is changed every other game. Pep looked to have decided on Dias and Gvardiol, but then moved Gvardiol to left back again and Akanji to centre back.

Dias and Stones had been ours during our title winning seasons. Especially the treble year. But now Stones is never fit. What would improve us would be finally finding the partner for Dias in defence.

I think Kyle is a massive miss as we knew he'd always be the right back in the defence. Now we have no idea if it's Rico or Nunes.

That will be part of it but now we Ait Nouri, and hopefully a new right back, then our centre backs will probably be Dias and Gvardiol, then Khusonov and Ake as back up,with Rodri and Reijnders in front of that we should be far more organised and solid.

Not the point though, we have had a high line for years. It not working and needing fixing last year was for the reasons stated, not because a high line is a bad thing.

Defence or the personnel we have on our books is least of the problems. The issues seem to stem from Pep's set up. That can simply be improved upon if we take our chances.
Spot on. Its crazy to me that people would rather believe that every single defender on the books turned to utter garbage just months after winning a 4th title in a row than recognise the tactics are the problem. If 1 player is playing shit, it's a drop in form or they arent good enough, if everybody you have for that area is playing shit, Its time to look beyond the players for thr reason.

there's a reason teams dont play 3 at back wings are wide open and pull defence out of position trying to stop transition. we play 3 at back with full back at inside right

I was watching them in the flesh before you were born son.

All bobbins but better than soft lad.

I need to point out that we have had many worse than that Real graduate who was capped for Spain and played for some major clubs around Europe

Those were dark times. Remember we even had Danny Mills

Haha, a swap deal you mean?

Nigel Clough is by far the worst player I've seen for City. I was a kid sitting in the Kippax asking my dad, "why does that player keep hiding behind opposition players so no City player can pass him through ball?"

The press and energy fell off a cliff. Teams could pick passes now instead of panicked clearances and ran through us for fun as we know we have no recovery pace.
