F1 2025 Season

Despite how much they are struggling and the scandal last year, this is pretty incredible.

He’s been the principal since day 1 of RBR. 18 months ago they’d have thrown any amount of money possible at him to keep him around.

Even if Max was threatening to leave, this is a crazy gamble - Max won’t stay unless the car is good enough anyway and that’s only partly Horner’s responsibility.
There's been rumours for a while now that Ferrari were after Horner so maybe there was more to it and red bull have pulled the plug.
Think Max will be next....

NOT ALLOWED!

Don't get me wrong, nobody becomes a seven-time WC without having talent to back it. And maybe I am pooh-poohing Anthony's determination in seeing his son reach the pinnacle of motorsport a little, but i'm an asshole! :)

It's mostly his fanbase I find issue with. They make out like nobody has ever done what he's done in F1 before or never could again. Ol' Schumi himself said "Records are made to be broken'. He broke Fangios, Lewis broke his, someone will break Lewis's. I don't find him as bad as Schumacher or Prost, or Verstroppen right now, i'm just kind of meh about him.

Personally my favourites have always been Senna, Lauda, Mansell, Hill (Both), Alonso and now Vettel in some regard. His is a story in which he should have been a seven-time champion too, IMHO.

Going way back, I have quite an admiration for Stirling Moss. The heroic, cottage-industry days of racing, when drivers got oil on them, and you could apparently sit down beside the track at certain circuits, no barriers, no fence. Crazy stuff. There's a terrific article on Moss by a writer called Ian Buruma — he talks about Moss at Zandvoort (I think it was published in the London Review of Books, but not sure, years back). I don't know if this is still the case — probably not, but at the time Zandoort snaked through the dunes. People could sit on the dunes and watch the race. I can't really make myself out to be an F1 fan — my brother was into fast cars, much more than me — but I like that period.
Senna is something else. I have the Universal Pictures DVD on him. He's one of those cases where you remember exactly where you were and what you were doing, when you heard the news of his death. Like Lennon, like Kennedy. I was standing over the sink doing the washing up, with the radio on. Was absolutely shocked by the news. It seemed impossible that that man could be killed on the track. And as I say, I'm not even really an F1 fan.
Apparently, he is adored in Brazil, second only to Pélé. More so, for many.

I don't see the logic from a sporting perspective, they let go of Newey and Wheatly to keep Horner, they could have done this a year ago and still had the best engineer in the sport and Wheatly is 10x more qualified to replace Horner than Mekies and his whole 1 year experience.

I guess this points to more chaos behind the scenes at RBR as the Austrian and Thai sides after Mateschitz's death.

Not mentioning Horner at all in the press release is insane. It'd be like Arsenal announcing Wenger's retirement by simply announcing Emery was going to be manager next season and that's it.

I thought he would be under pressure as they are in 4th in the constructors championship with Ferrari looking stronger than a few races ago. They have another 2nd driver in Tsonda who can’t get near Verstappen in pace, they have gone through multiple drivers trying to solve the problem when the car is set up for only Verstappen’s driving style which is leaving them vulnerable to falling down the standings and losing prize money.

They’ve lost Newey and they have a new engine supplier in Ford coming onboard that could end up turning out to be what McLaren encountered with Honda ten years ago. That’s even before we get onto the infighting with Horner and the rest of the team and actually keeping hold of Verstappen for next year.

What da fuuuck!? Well, that's Red Bull irrelevance for the foreseeable future. Not to suggest Horner is great or anything but, him going, potentially losing their number one driver? That's a lot of pressure to heap on young Tsunodas shoulders.

Daddy has bought him everything except a world title.

Best designer. **** of a team leader and Stroll in the best car. He'd still fuck it up unless they paid max to drive it remotely from his Esim set up.
Not to mention the best tutor he could hope for in Alonso
