Now we’ve got Pep Guardiola… (Oasis)

They just don't know the history of that debt ridden club do they?

You daft fcuker, the red bastards were officially established in April 1902, it was Newton Heath that were established in 1878. Facing a winding up order, Newton Heath found 4 local business men to clear your debt - as of 2025, you're still in debt but getting away with it - and changed your name to mufc aka, Red Bastards!

It must have been strange for the smattering of United fans at the Oasis gig to find themselves the butt of humour for the vast majority of the crowd when Noel taunted them. They are quickly turning from being a national laughing stock to a total irrelevance.

They'll probably be too busy to record one, touring and then holidays to get away from each other for a while.

Expect a live album / film off the back of these shows, and another documentary on how they got vack together.

There's lots of mileage left in the current run of shows, and to be honest, I don't think that there's any chance if Noel writing anything near the quality of their early work.
Yep.
I saw Liam last year. He still has one of the great rock n roll voices but artistically it was money for old rope.
I'd seen both Johnny Marr and Paul Weller a few weeks before. Both were outstanding, mixing the new with the old. Not knocking Gallagher, he is who he is and he can't help it but while it was a fun night out*, his show didn't stand comparison with the other two.

(* It's worth saying, loads of younger kids really loved that Liam Gallager gig. So maybe I'm no longer in LG's target demographic. And hey, good luck to them for it too. It's all subjective after all).

The Bell family would of been proud to see that image of pg wearing an iconic City top with King Colins no8 .
So would of been Buzzer & ex teammates , bet they had a big smiles on their faces .
He maybe gone but The King will never be forgotten .
Full respect goes out to pg .
You don't see any other manager doing that sort of thing on a night out relaxing .
PG? Was one more letter too much to use his name and what everybody calls him?

Oasis fucked up by not having these concerts at The Etihad. Can you image just how special that would have been
Isn't a fuck up when it was impossible. They was garbage at the etihad before they split, granted that was towards the end and I think they were just shit by that point. I don't think it mattered where these gigs were held, they always was going to go off. I might be boring but I think footy should be kept away from gigs. Don't mind a City badge or his Pep cut out but considering a large portion of your crowd aren't going to be blues it won't go down well. Also not great for Pep to be booed which Noel knew would happen as he dedicates to Pep on his solo gigs and he always asks who are you booing.

Just blast the tunes and lets go. My mate went to Sam Fender the other week at St James Park, it may as well just been a Newcastle home game, black and white flags, champions league music played, that saxophone pre match tune played, Dan Burn coming on the stage with the cup etc. You probably had a lot of Newcastle fans there but not everyone. Yeah I am a miserable fucker.

This is one of the many facts that highlight how pathetic these lot are

Realised that they weren’t the first Manchester team so used the date of Newton Heath instead

Find it odd the we never hear them mention 1902, which is their equivalent to our 1894, of which is mentioned a lot in our club merchandise etc.
We also have a strong 1894 supporter group which are fairly well publicised.
I'm guessing they don't like the fact they weren't actually formed till the 20th century which doesn't suit their history myth.

Disagree, there was an absolutely lovely and unavoidable sky blue theme to the Oasis gig on Saturday. Parents with kids who had always known about the city / Oasis connection and the kids having grown up supporting the team together were finally seeing the band together. It was an incredible vibe.

Was that the definitely maybe tour where he did the full album start to finish. I was thrre at the CoOp. Cant really expect new music when it's specifically the Definitely Maybe tour.

I thought about this is the other day. How can the Etihad hold gigs with a posh new hotel only a couple of hundred yards away ?.
The customers won't want to be listening to bands night after night plus being gridlocked around the stadium.
If the customers are there for gig its great.
