How the fuck can this not be anything but a court case against this ****? Legal experience or not, surely anyone can see that you simply cannot say these sort of things without proof?
I haven't seen the whole article but that quote (if accurate) is certainly defamatory. If City or Puma sued then the publisher would have to prove it was true. I suspect, even if it was true, it would be impossible to prove. A bit of a slam dunk case actually.

Simon Stone has written a very critical piece about Man Utd's transfer policy. He's completely correct. I don't read Man Utd articles from other journalists but the BBC Football stories are in your face and you can't miss them. I liked his description of the 5 players banned from Carrington in squad training as the 'bomb squad' and he commented that:

""More pertinently, it lets interested clubs know those players are not wanted, meaning United are negotiating from a position of weakness. And this is a big problem."

Clearly he is correct in this but I am a little surprised that he is so critical of Utd.
Did not know that the below are on Trafford Rovers books,

Hank Shocklee
Keith Shocklee
Carl Ryder
Eric "Vietnam" Sadler
Gary G-Wiz

With regards to Slymon Stone, "Don't believe the Hype"

Tbh the Mail is a disgrace of a publication on a number of aspects, but the likes of Herbert are making a personal crusade towards facing serious problems in his attempt to be their " biggest journalist ".

The media have become comfortable throwing so many accusations at the club over the years, but these have escalated following the PL's 115 accusations shit.

I would hope that the club doesn't allow this kind of article to go unpunished.

A positive outcome of the tribunal findings should result in punishments for the worst offenders.

A really strange take by Herbert. Puma are a German global company. They make pure business decisons about where they invest their money. This racist conspiracy has no limits. Apparently "Abu Dhabi" has bribed senior Judges in Europe and the UK, committed fraud on a grand scale involving hundreds of Auditors from the world's leading accountancy firms, taken over Manchester City Council, corrupted officials at UEFA and the PL who are all said to be "in our pocket." And the reason "Abu Dhabi" has done all this (in addition to buying other football clubs across the world) is so it can improve its image and conceal its "human rights" record. I know we exist in a post-Covid, post-truth, world but isn't this lunatic theory just a bit of a stretch.
V good, pinched a bit for twitter.

[Insert that gif of Dickie Attenborough enthusiastically applauding here].
Or, at least, I would if I wasn't such a luddite. :-)

Naah. Hack his phone, tweet a message with the words Palestine and Action anywhere in any order and he will be sent to Guantanamo Bay for ten years. Job done.
What the fuck have the residents of Guantanamo Bay done to deserve that? I think they'd prefer waterboarding to sharing a cell and having to listen to Herbert.

Good point.

Incidentally, it wasn't you who texted the guy on We Are The South Stand was it, PB? :)

Well at least he's blaming the Arabs, not the Jews, for all these issues.

But the sentence "A really strange take by Herbert" is probably on a par with "Hitler sometimes suffered a sense of humour failure".

I do hope, if cleared, the club does take legal action against serious allegations and bans the odd media outlet from the ground, Mail should be the 1st.

And while one section of the media are out attacking us again, another section are putting up defences for the old cartel.

Can you imagine the BBC solely dedicating an article to defending our spending? And yet here they are......

Did you note that showed the Dippers net spend then at the bottom put a table in showing gross spend as we would not be anywhere near the top if it was net

Both City and Puma should be on the phone to their lawyer over this. Herbert and the Mail have overstepped big time.

It's laughable. The arbitrary decisions on when to include graphs - summer of 2021 in one, summer of 2023 in another - to show that Liverpool don't spend as much is bizarre and predictable by the BBC. They've also started to ignore net spend now that it would show, over the last 5 years (see we can all cherry pick timescales) that city would be below all of our big six rivals and Newcastle. Absolute cunts.
