84% save percentage , didn’t concede a goal in 13 games, I know it’s the championship but that’s still impressive.

Absolute nonsense.
We have a number of players blessed with an excellent first touch.
We can have both - a shot stopper who is decent with the feet; it is not either/or.
so how do rate Ederson's ability as a shot stopper. As for first touch it's totally different having a ball passed to along the ground from 10 yds as opposed to pulling a ball down from the air that's been hit 45-50 yds

This just seems like one of those that will soon get wrapped up. I am not too sure of Ederson going at all, rather Ortega but lets see.

I think its obvious that Ederson is going. I`m more than happy for Trafford to come back, i`m not entirely convinced he`s a number one for us though? If Ortega wants to be a number one as well then he`s going to leave so maybe its Ederson and Ortega out and Costa and Trafford in?

Craig Hope who is a top Newcastle source has now reported that Newcastle are now looking to move on from Trafford which i would suggest is very telling.
Hope is excellent. He's got proper contacts at Newcastle.

Know someone who is a goal keeping coach and he has always rated Trafford.
Still not sure meself.

Looks a massive risk to me.

Ederson is a magnificent keeper. He is not truly elite as a shot-stopper, but he is the world's best with his feet, which has made our success. Those now demeaning him ignore our defensive vulnerability - opponents have a greater efficiency of success per chance against us than ever before - and no keeper is saving a high percentage of chances when there are one or two attackers beyond all of our defenders.

It will be a sad day when he leaves, but the time is probably right. Those criticising him will probably lack the patience to give a keeper like James Trafford the chance to develop while playing, or will condemn every misplaced pass that any elite shot-stopper makes. I wish any new keeper the best for a long and successful career with our team.

Sometimes older, experienced keepers get too relaxed, thinking they’ve seen it all, and act like small moves from the opponent don’t matter, ignore the danger, and end up letting in easy goals. A younger keeper with more energy, faster reflexes, better focus, and more determination to stop every shot could help a fresh new team a lot.

Need to get this big good with feet out of the equation as it’s not going hr everything about a good goalkeeper. Joe hart was a great shot stopper who won two titles with us and made loads of too class saves and look at David de gea who was rubbish with his feet but still he amount of saves he produced to win games for Utd was up there aswell and yes we had ederson who was great amazing for us and he saved us in he champions league final but last season he was poor and so far in the cwc he was crap aswell. If Trafford comes back it will take time but he will be our future .
People can keep saying this till the ends of times.

It has been pretty evident the last 10 years that Pep and the club care more about how comfortable someone is with their feet. If they aren't they can't play for City period. It's not something they can ignore it's vital to the way Pep wants to play.

Valdes wasn't the best at shot stopping by any means but he was with his feet that's why he played under Pep. Same goes for Bravo. It's been this way Peps whole career and it won't change. Being great with their feet is first thing a Pep GK needs.
