Cheating in a relationship

I saw them live on the X&Y tour and to be fair they were brilliant. Supported by Elbow as well who were obviously incredible too.

That was before they started making kids tv electro pop and jumping around stage in multi coloured trousers with confetti cannons of course.

Wouldn’t rush to go and see them again now, unless they went back to their roots and did a special Parachutes / Rush of Blood to the Head tour without all the poncery.
For their DHL advert alone they need shooting. And wearing a T-shirt with no arms. Double shooting. And kecks with more pockets than Ray Reardon’s practice room, triple bullets.

I’m not belittling the incredibly upsetting impact it can have; especially on the children but I don’t believe it’s quite at the “tragic” level.
Seems to broadly fit the dictionary definitions I briefly looked up. How is a kids life being ripped aprt by its parents splitting up and being horrible to each other not a tragedy?

For many, that’s something they never get over. I’d say, on a personal level, that’s a tragedy.

If this is indeed all true and they’ve been caught bang to rights having an affair, why would anyone lose their job over such a matter, unless it explicitly broke that person’s work contract?

The kid might get to go on the swings and have McDonald’s with dad every fortnight.

Nearly half of parents of children who reach the age of 14 are separated, it's not even unusual any more.

62% of women instigate divorce (When they are actually married that is because that's a dying trend) one of the main reasons is that their "Emotional needs" are not being met and fuck knows what that means.

Cat's out of the bag.
People are disloyal cunts.
It isn't going to change.

They reap what they sow.

In the current class I teach (5 year-olds) 87% live without a dad.

There is absolutely no stigma to it at all any more, social engineering caused this and only social engineering will rectify it.

Or of course a viral tiktok trend ;-)
In my primary school class when I was a kid, there was one girl whose parents had split. Now it’s the norm.

There isn't a way out of this, people just wont commit because they don't like being in a position where they lose their autonomy they just want the "Good things" like the initial rush of adrenaline when a relationship starts and not have to work at it when the bed sheets dry out and it gets difficult.

After my very infrequent trip to Manchester yesterday I am reminded we live in a circus now, the Horse has bolted society doesn't exist and I thank heavens (I'm not religious) that I raised traditionally minded children who appear to have solid lives and that I wont see the aftermath of the "What about me?" cunts wandering about on the way to be Cat ladies or lonely old men in care home capsules.

Perhaps there is a reason they are making suicide pods popular?

Because she is head of HR and he is CEO; two positions in an organisation that simultaneously require a level of trust between the two individuals but also a degree of distance and separation, with an element of Chinese walls being deployed, at least in theory, because (again in theory) the former is (to some extent) supposed to provide a level of protection to the workforce from the latter.

Whilst HR’s ultimate function in an organisation is to protect and defer to senior management, ostensibly it’s there to protect the weak from the strong. It’s hard to imagine a more inappropriate relationship between two senior executives in a large corporation.

I’m not sure I agree with the protecting the weak from the strong analogy.

Job of HR is to ensure compliance with employment law and company policies - protecting the weak can be a bi-product of that but it’s not the main driver - the ultimate driver is to provide the company with a competent/skilled/healthy/available workforce so that workforce can then make the company money.

Where I do agree is that an affair between CEO and HRD is untenable.

Edit: re read your post and think we’re saying the same thing.

All the features you raise are absolutely correct, and mine was a more overarching point and the juxtaposition between the theory of the function and the reality. But of course it makes commercial sense to have a competent//skilled/healthy, available workforce. So yes, I think we are saying essentially the same thing.

He’s absolutely done, and I’d say she was too.

Of course - I was forgetting they both work at same place. He / she might have survived otherwise. They’re toast.

If you want to see the perfect, living, breathing embodiment of the decline of man, come visit my school at drop-off / pick-up. I’ve become inured to the sights and sounds but it still comes as a shock to many of the younger teachers. And we’re still nowhere near the nadir. We’re getting there though.

Peak fuckwittery approaching it'll be life imitating art for sure. I can't wait until all humans are grown in pods and being "normal" s seen as unusual and frowned upon. If you haven't got a cosmetically altered arse you're going against the grain.

You've got a tough job mate.
