Will we win the league this season?

We won on the last day in 1968 and have also had lots of last day promotions. Without checking I suspect no other club has had so many last day dramas. You can also include some relegations. Watching City for 60 years has been bloody fantastic.
I actually did a bit of research into the 1936-37 league title win a couple of years ago to see if there were any dramatic circumstances then. I was disappointed to find that we clinched it with a game still to play!

Look, I hate the dippers as much as anyone on here. However, I think you are overlooking the players they have brought in since last season. They are doing what we didn't do after our last title, and that is to bring in top quality players. We now have brought in those player's, but to not acknowledge how much they have strengthened would be an oversight
It seems they see an opportunity to build a dominating squad for years to come, increasing their revenue and fan base as a result unfortunately. Maybe think we are not going to get back to where we were and Pep will not be here too much longer.

I'm not sure I'd be that pessimistic about it mate. We have an amazing squad overall, yes we need to address the right back conundrum, but generally speaking I'd back us to go toe to toe with anyone. But yes, we definitely should have done what they're doing now when we were at the summit. Seems strange really that such a well oiled machine (pardon the pun) as we are, we failed to do that. I genuinely believe that the charges stopped us from being able to do it, obviously something has now changed, either they know the outcome of the charges and it's now all go again, or the club literally had no choice but to push on regardless rather than risking being left behind by other teams.

I’d put our squad against theirs and in most positions we match them a few they are better a few we are. Think we’ll be close especially if we sort right back out.

Maybe some Cityitis lingering from last season.
I think you are right that at least the club knows they cannot defer the changes regardless of the charges.
I have no doubt we can beat anyone but our best squad deserved to win more CL but only managed the one, and this seems to be a key objective.
Would like a few more FA cups too.

That’s fair, but we do need a couple of world class/promising players and need to change tactics from geriatric to more PSG.
We have them , and PSG tactics aren’t very different to ours were before last season, with our aging squad.
Here, give or take a player or 2, everyone will have opinions on which ones, is what our squad could very likely be based on season after next.
With room for 1 more NHG and 2 HG one would be. A keeper , obviously a full back or 2,

NHG 16
Khusonov Reis Dias Gvardiol Ait Nouri Bah
Gonzalez Rodri. Reinjders Nypan
Cherki Marmoush Savinho Doku Echeverri
Haaland

Home grown 2
Bettinelli., O’Reilly

Academy trained 4
Bobb. Foden Trafford, Lewis.

Can't argue about players the dippers have brought in, but you are missing the point that city have not only recruited new players, we have a raft of players returning from from injuries that were badly missed last season.

Not a chance we are winning the league next season. The shocking recruitment since the treble has left us with a squad not capable of a title challenge.

The majority of the £400m signings since January won’t even be in the starting 11 on the first game of the season, some won’t even be on the bench.

Rodri could take months to get back to anything close to his best - the thought of Trafford being number 1 and joining with no pre season with us is mind boggling and not sorting a right back out is negligence.

Looking forward to the new season but it’s gonna be a top 4 challenge.

Who cares if hes not here much longer. The club will be fine

The unforeseeable often dictates the outcome. As always it depends on fixtures, form and injuries. That City won 4 titles in a row highlights the greatness of the achevement.

Whilst contenders are easier to predict, it is pointless to forecast winners unless you are a gambler.

Fuckin hell I wasn't that pessimistic when we were in the 3rd tier in 98/99

If they stay jammy with injuries like they did last year, I wouldnt be surprised if Dippers win a double plus including the PL. They've been methodical and efficient and now they have that CF they needed. Hopefully, we can sort out the one shot, one goal problem and be more attacking to have a good go at top 4.

The last two FA Cup finals have been there for the taking.

The 2024 was an absolute disgrace turning up hungover after the 4 in a row. Ffs could they not just have waited a week to celebrate, and in what I'm 99% certain would have been a domestic double. That one still irks me.

Last seasons final was a combination of our Kryptonite - the fast break; being royally screwed over when Henderson should have seen red ( a fix if ever there was one) and Haaland not have the cojones to take that penalty. So yes we should be 2 FA cups to the good.

As for Europe we were shafted and unlucky so many times I've lost count from the coach wrecking, the Spurs handball, the Raz disallowed became Sergio was supposedly offside, the Lyon player fouling Laporte and scoring, bloody Real Mardarses having more lives than a cat against us, to last seasons shytte show of our own making. And that doesn't include the Pep Piece de Resistance of feckinh with the team selection in the 2p21 CL final. Which in turn led them to becoming WClub Champs last week.

Hold a footy grudge? MOI? You betcha!!!
