The penny drops, finally! ………
It’s actually really annoying it took this long, and this deal, for them to realise.
How much longer for the PL themselves?
Club that wins six of the last 8 PLs has commercial appeal shocker!
How fucking thick do you have to be to not join the dots on this?
I have been saying this for as long as i can remember, NO outside entity can set the market value of anything, the market sets the value, something is worth what someone is willing to pay, that is the very basis of free market economics and it is ridiculous that these supposed highly educated people who 'run' the pl dont understand that. As i have supposed in the past lets look at two identical cases and how they are decided, etihad decide to sponsor city, they become visible across the world and their airline grows exponentially to the point where they are ready to offer an IPO during this time they decide due to the success of that they want to renegotiate the terms as the sponsorship is working for them, the pl say no this isnt fmv completely dsiregarding the growth of the company and the fact that the company can spend its money wherever it wants. Visit rwanda decide to sponsor arsenal despite having no discernible tourist trade to speak off and being a current conflict zone and also nobody in the history of time saying to their missus right love this year we could have gone to barbados, new york, greece but i decided to cough up and go to rwanda and the PL say yep thats defo FMV despite their being no market or value. They are quite clearly not fit for purpose as those cases show they neither understand markets or values and dont get me started on their ridiculous version of fair. The whole concept of the PL coming up with a sponsorship value is nonsense. Each situation is unique and subject to both businesses analysing what a contract is worth and freely negotiating the price.
Both Etihad and Puma have reported record sales after their sponsorship of City.
I expect City to be arguing this strongly in the upcoming action.
I think if you could somehow take that Rag team and time travel to today, they would finish around Brentford / Brighton type of league standing. In fact Brentford pretty much play the way that Rag team did, direct fast football, using the channels and crosses. It was fucking pathetic that the experts were comparing our teams playing each other & gave the Rags a compelling victory with both teams playing a 442.
Not 1 expert tried to argue our set up was far superior or that Neville may struggling pushing into midfield the thick fuckers.
Not even closeOur TREBLE will ALWAYS be more legitimate than the rags,we entered the CHAMPIONS league that season as Englands actual winners of their league…..unlike the scum rags, who entered it as sloppy second to Arsenal…..fucking champions league, they weren’t even champions of their own league when they entered it…..I always push this narrative to the rags I work with and the ones I meet….they fucking hate it,just keep repeating it to them,I’ve noticed the younger ones get more wound up than the ones around my age.
The great unwashed out on the internet reaction to City’s billion pound kit deal is that Mansour is now writing cheques via Puma. A company based in Germany that has fuck all connection to Abu Dhabi, this is Puma that now has a deal with the Premier League to produce their match ball amongst other things. If City’s kit deal isn’t fair market value is the Premier Leagues?

if i'm reading that right city only have one team in there? What a load of shite - i don't reckon the '23 side was even the best under Pep
Same goes for the chevrolet one as well, there is a multitude of them, i just went with those two as they are directly comparable. How about Team Viewer who sponsored the rags for a high percentage of what the company’s actual value was back in 2021. They ended up having to get themselves out of the arrangement two season earlier than they should have as they couldn’t afford to pay for it. Who signed that off for an organisation that sells to business and not consumers?

Great post ……but I’m starting to wonder if this thread will ever DIE ?!?I have been saying this for as long as i can remember, NO outside entity can set the market value of anything, the market sets the value, something is worth what someone is willing to pay, that is the very basis of free market economics and it is ridiculous that these supposed highly educated people who 'run' the pl dont understand that. we could go on forever with the shady deals and they are still there today. Thats another route we could go down in terms of related companies, the PL etc dont seem to understand that the world of billionaires is a rarified air and they all interact and intersect in one way or the other whether it being directly or indirectly, so related companies is a nonsense and unenforceable term anyway.Liverpool first shirt sponsor under Henry there first off was 16m then ended up getting one for 25m from a company Henry new well related!
Don't you mean 'shared' with liverpool?Club that wins six of the last 8 PLs has commercial appeal shocker!
