The rags could dig up the earthly remains of the Emperor Claudius, bundle them into a JD Sports carrier bag, jump on the number 26 bus from Egypt to the Trafford swamp, place the remains in the centre circle ready for kick off, and the British media would be telling us all how wonderful their new centre forward is and how it turned down us, Arsenal, dippers etc because as a kid, the young Claudius would play football in the sand by the Valley of Kings -making sure the ball didn't go into the Nile- and dream of one day turning out for 'Manshnited' because they were the club of his dreams...and the plastics would believe it.

Er....Claudius was Emperor of Rome

That’s a brilliant idea!

Stack a fucking great pile of pressure on the kids' shoulders, before they even start their careers.

Genius thinking.
The fuckers can't help themselves.

They are so desperate to see the rags recover that they'll write or report anything they view as a positive.

The broadcasting media and written press in this country are idiots. They've been doing this for years now. They don't realise that writing powder puff pieces about the rags or framing everything they do as a sign of progression is actually compounding their development.

You would think that the CEO of one of these rag sympathising media outlets would arrange a board meeting to discuss a new strategy.

Look at the way the media report on MCFC. We've had to contend with years of negative press and we've gone from strength to strength.

Look at the rags. They've had years of powder puff pieces written about them and a media narrative that takes gaslighting to a whole new level.

The media forensically scrutinise our every move and highlight the slightest mistakes we make, in an attempt to frame us as incompetent.

This constant examination (ironically) keeps the club on it's toes and in good health and tip top condition. The very thing the media want to avoid.

The rags on the other hand receive very little if any criticism from the media until it's too late. So for example that £80,000,000 player (Van de Bake) they got for £40,000,00 is already out the door after proving to be a monumental flop.

This sounds familiar because they do it with every player they sign. The only difference these days is that all their new signings are boyhood fans..... so we're led to believe that will somehow make a difference.

The British media really are incompetent. If only they new that they are a major part of the rags problems.

This is what annoys me about online forums - your last part of the comment (bold) is not needed if you want discussion or have a different opinion. Why try and belittle? Why a barbed statement? If you were speaking to me face to face, would you not think that statement would elicit a potentially angry response? I just don't see why being online means you can basically just have a go at people.
I wasn't intending to have a go at you, but if you were someone at work, who had repeated the same assumptions for the last 5 years regarding United, and then continued to repeat them despite all the evidence showing you the contrary, then yeah I probably would have said it face to face; not in an angry manner, just one that was said with disappointment!

Its about pandering to pricks that crave Glory days and hang on the words of would be journalists that thing will go better.

We all know what will happen this season.
A season with debatable wins
Mass defeats
Neville and co having there weekly debate on why United are shit
A cup run that will fail once they play someone decent
Protests
Scruffy Jim begging

And repeat for the 26/27 season
Honestly clubs have done what they have done been great for years and faded into the past but these bastards wow.
Can anyone recall the media going on and on about Liverpool when the 70s/80s era came to an end ????
Did we have sky going on about how crap they are ???? Nope its all about pandering down to a bunch of gloryhunting twats who should have followed there local teams before these twats

Yeah I hope so, but on paper, these do improve them as well as the other measures they have performed.
I guess I am concerned as we seem to be "afraid of them" or give them too much respect when we play them, just look at the 0-0 last season - Pep seemed to set us up not to lose as he is wary of their threat, and I think that threat has just been increased by these signings.
They're beyond improvement mate.

Pep would fail at that club.

The rags are literally beyond help. Their problems run much more deeper than players and managers (logistics). That club is experiencing a systematic and cultural crisis that has been going on since the early 90s.

They're in a situation not too dissimilar to the men's England national first team. The England team have had incredibly talented players and experienced managers over the years. However, they've not won any silverware since 1966.

This isn't a coincidence. It's cultural. No other national team is under as much pressure as England are to win silverware.

The players know it. The managers know it. The fans know it and the British media know it.

If England were to win silverware in any international campaign the ramifications will be huge. There will no doubt be a Bank Holiday to mark the occasion and each and every player and member of the backroom staff will go down in British folklore.

That level of responsibility is unmanageable.

The rags are in a similar position. It's not good enough for them to simply improve. This is "The great Manchesniteh" we're talking about. The biggest and most (until last season) successful club in British football.

Those players and managers know exactly what is at stake the minute they walk through the door and sign on the dotted line. Again that level of responsibility is unmanageable.

The fans of the club are becoming more and more impatient with each passing season. They and the media will only tolerate living in the past for so long before their collective patience runs out.

The owners can't help because they're focused on profit and making as much money as they can before the well dries up.

This isn't a new problem for the rags. It's been going on for years, the difference now of course is that it's so plain for everyone to see. The whole thing is a mess and it's unraveling in a very public way.

But who else has the same number of brain-dead supporters who need to be fed the regular supply of shite to retain their interest ?

( actually dippers fall into the same category but are more successful )

The Greatest Team in the World TM also has the largest and most needy " supporters " hence the media whores and their constant puff pieces . This propaganda is essential to keeping the rags relevant, even though lacking the success on the football front.

And the media know all of the rag problems, but they aren't about to give up on the gravy train.

They do seem to be and hopefully it continues. Sadly I don't think they'll perform worse than last season in the coming campaign. Then again I could be talking claptrap.
Unless they perform miracles in the transfer market in the next few weeks they will be in a relegation scrap. They have the worst back five and keeper and an ageing, crumbling, midfield. Their team is worse than the one which went down in 1974 and the league is much tougher these days.

That really does sound nice. Hopefully they start the season disastrously and then goes downhill from there.
