If you want to be sick over your corn flakes read the piece in The Sun this morning “Sak Race - How Liverpool can afford Isaak”

It is truly nauseating.

Backed by the unlimited wealth of FSG, big spending Liverpool can at last compete with the rags to win the Money Badly Spent Cup and failure to win the title.
Where is it possible to see, how much FSG invested there? There are some strange articles and widely hold the opinion that they hardly invest anything, only granting interest-free loans that have to be repaid anyway.

Cunts are gonna get Isak aren't they?

I want them to be referred to as 'moneybags Liverpool'... or ....'big-spending Liverpool' every time their name comes up on sky or the BBC

That's how it works doesn't it!!??
That's not how it works Chaddblue.

Liverpool are different.

Those helpful presenters on Sky Sports have been really helpful. They've done their research you see. They are very enthusiastically explaining how Liverpool FC can make these big money signings and still remain well within the limits of PSR and FFP.

Apparently, it's all to do with them winning the premier league you see. That generates extra income. I know!......... I had no idea. MCFC have won the premier league four times in a row and this is the first I'm hearing about this extra income.

Yes, Sky have been helpful. They have made sure that all their viewers get the full facts. Liverpool have also sold a couple of players which means, yep, they get income for that too.

Don't you worry about a thing. Liverpool FC are running their affairs on a thing called "net spend"

I've certainly been well educated by the diligence of those nice people at Sky Sports on how a football club should negotiate the transfer window.

Amazing isn't it?

They bend over backwards to make sure everyone knows how Liverpool FC can stay within the financial rules and the rags can use a second account "Red football LTD" to avoid any charges.

However, when MCFC buy a player the fuckers are up in arms about it.

In my opinion Liverpool will not be any better next season than the last.

By the end of the window they will have replaced a number of players (jota, Diaz, Nunez and Trent) and time will tell if the players are an upgrade, if the dynamic of the team works, if they have injuries or proper refs etc

All I know is that we will be better this season and have improved in areas we were poor

They were the best team last season without a creative midfielder or decent striker.

They’ve not had a decent creative midfielder since Countino was playing well nearly a decade ago. They’ve not had a decent striker since Suarez over a decade ago.

They’ve signed Wirtz and may sign Isak. Those two will definitely improve them, I’d argue considerably.

…ON PAPER!

However, if you look at City’s squad in 2019-20, we had the best squad in Europe that season. With the addition of Rodri as well as having Fernandinho Gündoğan De Bruyne DSilva BSilva and Foden, it was the greatest collection of midfielders ever seen in the sport. Yet we finished a distant 18 points behind the league winners, went out of the CL to a shit Lyon who finished midtable in France and out of the FA Cup to a shit Arsenal we’d been dicking for years.

So, it might not work out for them. But on paper those signings really do strengthen them where they were weakest.

We struggled badly with defenders that season since we lost Kompany to retirement & Laporte was out for a lot of it with an ACL. Otamendi had an absolute stinker for the most part and Stones struggled as well - he was still in that stage where he needed a wiser & more experienced centre back alongside him to play well. Rodri also struggled to adapt and Fernandinho was showing signs of not being quite as mobile as he once was.

They’ve not made a profit since 2022, they made record losses in their last accounts. They passed psr with a whole plugged by a £70 million interest free loan from their owners. Interest free loans have now been deemed illegal as the Premier League has operated an illegal rule book since 2021. Take that £70 million loan away it restricts some of the spending they have done in the last few years and it has also led to them not being sanctioned by Uefa and the Premier League. Where’s the investigation and charges?
Same as the Rags 300 plus million losses over 3 years where the limit for PSR was 105 million but they got away with it due to seriously over inflated claims such as covid and swept under the carpet. Dippers will probably raise around 100 million in sales but like the Rags, no way will they be allowed to fail.

Except, I don't need to imagine winning 4 on the trot, whereas your assertion of another CL is just that. Imagination.
On second thoughts, you've convinced me, we'll be lucky to stay up...
You're right, ignore me. Our squad is absolutely fine, we don't need to make any signings because we won 4 on the bounce.

You are aware they are champions?

Liverpool’s accounts should tell you.
My post was really a jab at the media who constantly say we are backed by state wealth and just buy our titles.
I couldn’t care less about FSG investment, they should be able to invest if they own it, just as we should be entitled to receive funding from our owner.

Sorry Sky Blue Moon.

I know Liverpool FC are the current champions.

I just don't understand the point you are making?

Now it's Liverpool's turn to spend big. Next year it will be someone else. The circle of life.
We couid be spending big if we weren't fluttering away millions of pounds on players that are no where near good enough to play for a title challenging side.

Liverpool have won the league and have gone out and bought the best players available in their position (if they get Isaac).

Wirtz the best AM in Europe
Isaac along with Haaland the best ST in the PL. IMO Isaac is a better all round footballer.
And Frimpong certainly improves their defence.

They are doing what we should have been doing every year we won the league. Just go and buy the best players that are available. We strained every sinew out of the likes Walker, Gundo, KDB, Bernie, Stones, Ake and now we are taking chances on unproven players.

We are literally one RB away from having a comparable squad to them

Squad depth could be their achilles if they get in injuries. But their first 11 is very strong. Arsenal will have a proper striker finally and we look to have filled our gaps. Should be a hard title fight between the 3 of us
