Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

Newcastle put a value on his head , say £130m , Liverpool can’t get near it and offer a max of £120m

Newcastle knock back their bids and Isaac signs a new big contract with a release clause of £120m that becomes active next summer

Newcastle save a bit of face and Liverpool get their man next season

Meanwhile Newcastle quietly sell Livramento to City for £70m , which frees up the funds for Issacs pay rise and allows them to build their squad out for CL football

If only. That would be great, but unfortunately fucking scousers, or arses and rags always get these players because they’re willing to pay. We seem hellbent on trying to save £5m on £60m+ transfers.

We’d be fucking unstoppable if only we’d just go that bit higher for players that would absolutely make a difference. It still pisses me off thinking how we balked at paying for van dijk, then again Rice, now it’ll be Livramento. All would have stopped rivals doing as well, kept us as far ahead as when we had prime Vinnie, Yaya and David Silva, but now because of the reticence to pay the absolute top fees Liverpool, arsenal and Chelsea have pretty much caught up.

Yes we’ve won a lot, we’ve got plenty right. But we could have been even better.

Yes we've won a lot, more than anyone else the last 10 years, more than Van Dijk, more than Rice. If it wasn't enough for you and you haven't enjoyed every minute of it, then that's tough shit and your problem, not our transfer activity.

Aye and Maguire, Sanchez, Koulibaly, Fred and all.

Hope it stays that way! We should be in getting Livramento now before they even think of selling.
Livramento isn’t for sale either. Newcastle will probably hope to keep Isak and up his wages next season when they are allowed to. Losing Isak and his replacement to 1 club is crazy. That would be bad PR and make them a laughing stock

Would love Newcastle to string Liverpool along right until the end of the window before announcing they won’t sell him leaving Liverpool short up front.

Of course he`s for sale! The same way Alvarez wasnt for sale until a number came in that we thought yep ok.

How serious are the Newcastle owners?

They could make a big statement to any other player as well if they tell Isak you not going you have 3 years left your staying those three years and you’ll be playing if you don’t you’ll be fined!

They could do what we did with Tevez telling him we ain’t letting him go not matter how long you stay away!

so pray tell how do you propose we shift players on contract with big wages to then over pay for next new toy . just pay them off ?

At some point, supporters are right to question the direction of their football club. What is the long-term vision? Is the ambition to establish themselves among the elite - consistently challenging for titles and competing with Europe's best or to follow the model of clubs like Brighton, who buy low, develop talent, and sell high?

There’s nothing inherently wrong with smart recruitment and sustainable business models. But when a club with newfound resources and aspirations to break into the top tier begins selling its best players especially to direct rivals, then that does send a concerning message. Players like Benjamin Sesko, for example may look at situations like this and begin to question the trajectory of a club like Newcastle United. If a club appears willing to part with its top talents, what message does that send to those considering a move?

Take the hypothetical sale of Alexander Isak. Even if Newcastle were to receive £150 million, such a move would undermine the image of a club with serious intent. It would suggest that Newcastle are not yet ready to compete with, or resist the pull of established powerhouses. It becomes less about being part of something lasting, and more about using the club as a platform or a stepping stone to boost their value and reputation before securing a move elsewhere.

For a club aspiring to be part of football’s elite, that perception can be damaging. The best players want to be part of a destination, not a transition.

Clubs like us have built our dominance by refusing to part with key players. If Real Madrid came calling, City wouldn't entertain offers for the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo/David Silva, or Sergio Agüero in their prime. They drew a line. They signalled to the Football World that our top talent are untouchable - because winning, not selling, was the priority.

Newcastle United must decide which narrative they wish to write. Selling players like Isak, no matter the price, risks casting the club in a role it surely wishes to move beyond: a club on the rise, but not yet among the truly elite. These next few weeks will be massive for Newcastle United.
I agree with the vast majority of what you say and share your opinions.
However, psr changes the landscape considerably for clubs trying to break through.
A lot of folk are thinking of football as how it should rightly be, not what it currently is.

Guess they know internally Isak isn't going anywhere, but are silent in the media to not piss him off. The latter encourages people to think they are ready to sell. Imo, they aren't, unless Liverpool are absolutely desperate and offer 140-50m plus add-ons.

They could hang on in reality. City challenging the rules could see a shift in how it's run.

Once a player wants out as annoying as it is there is no point in keeping them. They will just sulk, feign injuries, go through the motions, or as in what happened with Tevez, cite mental health and just fuck off on the long term sick.

Newcastle should just come out and say Isak is not for sale at any price this season and Liverpool have tapped him up
They should then threaten legal action (they won’t win) and report Liverpool to the league.
Then watch how fuck all happens about it

Then Saudi should bid £200m for him
Give him the choice to go there or stay

And come back to help us win the title of those raggy nosed cunts
