Unofficial Wolves Away pre match thread

They are deliberately not going to send x amount of tickets out, this is part of the new strategy.

As you say you then have to get in touch with them and they will put you on the list for collection at the venue, where you will have to provide id in the name of the ticket holder.
That is one of the 2 ways they are going to check.
Please trust me on this I am trying to help and pre warn people .
Well that's a pisstake and they should state this on when releasing ticket information. People now could have booked on a later train etc only to be told a day before the game that they actually have to go through all the home fans and to the ticket office and carry photo id to get their ticket!!! Gonna be some proper fun and games at klanfield and the old toilet!!! Yet another idiotic idea with no thought of the match going fan.

That’s my interpretation also, nowhere have they said tickets will be held back, and I doubt Wolves would be very keen on the hassle involved. But of course you never know….
You'd just have to collect at the away ticket office which would be manned by City staff. Name, Photo ID and then they give you your ticket.

Is there away ticket offices at every prem ground?? As said I'm sure the opponents we are visiting wouldn't want this either let's say 20 or 30 city fans queuing up with the home fans trying to sort out their tickets?? It would be so much easier to have a few city stewards at the away turnstile scanning tickets against id to make sure the purchaser is in hold of the ticket?? Yes if tickets haven't arrived or been lost I the post I get picking up a replacement from the home ticket office but to have a certain amount of tickets held back for collection is just plain stupid unsafe and time consuming for the fan/fans involved.

As far as I know there isn't an away ticket office at every PL ground, but the club hasn't said they will be using ticket offices. Why not wait until after the Wolves game and we'll see how the ID check is implemented.

Yeah I'm pretty sure most grounds would have their own. Might be wrong but I'm sure the Wolves 1 is right where the away turnstiles are or at least City will have its own window where the home teams 1 (for future games) is so we don't que with home fans which makes it alot quicker.

When tickets don't arrive/lost in post it would usually be City staff who issue you a new ticket at the ticket office not home team staff. I did the collection for Fulham, (3 windows for away fans only) City rang me and said I'd be selected bring ID or a photo of your passport/driving license. Its annoying but it wasn't really a big issue as I used my own ticket.

I will tell you how they did it to me at the Wembley semi final last season.
You get to the turnstile and when you present the barcode it gives the message "ticket blocked, go to the ticket office "
You go to the ticket office and they take the ticket off you and check your id and then give you a new already printed ticket back.
They have a list of tickets that they have blocked and who's the original owner if that doesn't tally with your shown id,you aren't going in.
This is what happened, so don't be telling all and sundry it doesn't happen because it does and I can assure you it will definitely happen this season .
I heard about this, and it worries me.

I often go with my 8 year old lad, and I always let him through the Turnstile first. Is there a situation where he goes in and then I have to go round to the ticket office to have my ID checked. I can't leave him by himself!

Wembley may have been different but normal league games they'll let you know in advance if you are selected to collect your match ticket so you'll not be blocked from entering like Chappie was.

24k? LOL. I barely have 24!
We really need to introduce a ballot system for away tickets. At the moment, too many are going to the OSC, staff, and hospitality, leaving other fans with no chance of getting an away ticket.

I would be surprised if they selected someone who has purchased a junior ticket at the same time as a adult.
They are not as daft as many people think.
They target certain patterns of buying by supporter's, ie someone who buys a lot of tickets on their account.

I think you're probably right, although for wembley myself and my lad were on separate bookings (still sat next to each other) due to my incompetency with the click clack, so maybe it could've happened there?

Cheers mate, I'll make sure we're on the same booking each game this year, and I might give the ticket office a ring for peace of mind
