PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Understood, but I think if we had been found innocent of everything the announcement would have been made soon. The fact it is taking so long may be down to deciding what sanctions the PL are likely apply and that’s when negotiations between the legal teams for a settlement will start from. I suspect that’s the reason for the delay in announcing a final outcome.
“Taking so long” means absolutely nothing as we have absolutely nothing to compare it to to know how long a process like this “should” take.

You’re overthinking it mate.

One can only hope given what’s at stake for both parties.
I don’t believe the PL want to throw the book at us as they will be going up against some v powerful people and politically motivated arguments. At the same time they cannot be seen to completely lose face .
The most sensible outcome will be asome financial settlement and a slap on the wrist for us.
Like all of us here I would obviously want to see us completely exonerated but have a feeling it won’t quite go that way given how long it has taken for any pronouncements to be made.
It is too late for any deals. The PL have accused us of false accounting going back 18 years, apparently with little or no evidence. They have spent most of those years knifing us in the back by strategically leaking poisonous comments to their pals in the media. They have tried to destroy our club, to put us out of business. There is no middle ground to be had there.

And why would that be?
That’s only my view.
What’s your view.
Completely innocence?
Good luck with that.
You claim because its a prolonged and costly process that they will have to find us guilty of some of the chargeses .Why ?
So, on that reasoning any trial for whatever reason that goes over a certain timescale must mean the defendant is guilty of something.

The tribunal will only find the allegations proven if the necessary evidence has been submitted by the premier league lawyers.

Any punishment will be given by the panel and not the premier league.

My view is we will be judged on the evidence provided by each party and that the final outcome will be published by the panel when they have completed their findings and they wont be rushed by anyone.

This panel is only considering guilt or otherwise. Sanctions will be considered, if needed, sometime later

I know that is the perceived wisdom, but it has never been confirmed. I think it was The Lawyer who came up with that. Granted, they should know what they are talking about.

I just increasingly get the feeling something is going on with the process that we don't know about, and that is why it's taking so long.

Spot-on. The written statement will be longer and more complex than most books. Every line will have to be double checked for legal reasons. Whoever loses this case is likely to be bombarded with counter actions. Even for experienced Judges this will be challenging. It is not just the complexity either. There are huge commercial, reputational, and political interests at stake and no one is immune to this sort of external pressure.

I agree.

This is all out war.

We shouldn't be taking any prisoners.

Probably taking ages as city are helping masters and his inept organisation writing the rules going forward. Bit like a hacker helping companies not Vincent lol

Paqueta was also targeted by a vicious smear campaign with false stories about him leaked to the tabloid media. Sounds familiar.
West Ham should sue the league as he was a 90 million pound player two years ago when he was linked with us and they won’t get anything like that now. He should also take the premier league to the cleaners for defamation

Do you think the complications and expense you anticipate could have been predicted by the people who instruct the PL?

Couple of things if interest on this.
He has been cleared of being deliberately booked but found guilty of not answering questions I.e. failing to cooperate that we have been charged with.

The headline from talksport is that he has been cleared.
Will be interesting if we get cleared of the financial stuff and guilty on the non cooperation if the messaging is the same or if it's city found guilty of 39 PSR breaches.
It will indeed by interesting

Our non co-operation charges are more akin to being accused of refusing to hand over the weapon for the murder you haven’t committed

Masters changed his position from the interview the day before where he claimed he didn't know the outcome. Every word will have been coached and rehearsed by his Comms team. He fucked up in the earlier interview where he looked rattled. The most stupid thing he said was: "The PL rules could not be more clear." Given the number of times they have had to re-write their unlawful rules it was an answer worthy of Chemical Ali at his peak during the Gulf War.
If the premier league rules couldn’t be more clear, it makes it worse that they keep losing cases for not fucking knowing them. They lost the Leicester case because they failed to realise that under THEIR OWN RULES Leicester were no longer deemed a premier league club

Then when you look at the ATP case & their motivations of preferring unlawful rules just to try & stop City tells you everything.

Said it many times as have so many

The PL (red cartel) totally underestimated us and thought we’d simply eat humble pie accept sanctions which would for them hopefully restrict our business model and thereby contain our competitiveness and keep us as they seemingly have succeeded in doing with Newcastle a good worthy team but no quite good enough to threaten the 3 rag tops
Once it became a legal issue I’m anticipating we have all but destroyed the whole establishment and the prolonged case is more than likely that the outcome against us was heard and closed months ago. The time line since has probably been about how the so called best commodity in world league football is preserved and can come out of this with a viable and credible product

I agree mate, something has happened. How many times have we been to the US on tour & how often has Masters been in attendance & giving interviews. I’m also certain if he didn’t want 1 single question asked about City & the case it could have been agreed before.
