We're going to be setting ours up in phases. we buy decorations every city we visit so there are a lot of valuable decorations on our tree so if Buddy is too interested we're gonna have to work out how to stop him!.
We are same, my partner got some of her nans as well. I purposely didn't put any at bottom of tree ok lowest branches

I simply tell our cat that any interference with the tree means he will go in the oven with the turkey. Works every time.
Bit concerned this year, however: general anaesthetic seems to have changed his behaviour. He has turned thief. Most strange.

Buy it a scratching pole. Bengals are pedigree cats, I assume that you wont be letting it out the door.
Our pedigree lilac pointed Siamese goes out freely. Never had a worry about it but I think Bengals are much more valuable. So insure it. Vets bills are really stiff so get the best cover. We use Petplan, who have never questioned a claim.
You might want to get him chipped if he goes out.
Scratching pole is good advice. Whenever it starts to scratch, pick him up and show him how to scratch the pole. He will soon get used to it.
As a mad cat fiend, I am very jealous.
Drink should be water, cats can’t handle dairy. Food should include both wet and dry.
If you get fed up with him, pm me.

I had quite forgotten this thread and have been replying to five year old posts. d’oh. Check the date, idiot.

Some Cats are hard to keep in, depending on where you live and if you trust your Cat not to walk up to strangers easily it's fine as you say to allow your Cat to roam the neighbourhood doing what cats do beat.

Our last cat died about 2 weeks ago..I'm not getting any more pets now. Too heartbreaking. I still get stray cats visiting me so I'll buy food for them. It's good to get a visit.
I'm sorry for your loss. The pain is real. I still miss my cat (my first pet) who died 3 years ago at Christmas.

It really is isn't it? sorry for you losing your moggy mate.

Jasper is our last Cat and even he might outlive us which I want but not want at the same time.

When you get older and your children are adults, any pet becomes like a replacement child...yet our children aren't supposed to die before us. That's too painful for humans to cope with. It's that instinct of looking after them..

Yeah...that's the point. Weigh up the amount of pleasure you get from them compared to the heartache. It's a tough one for me.
