North Stand Construction Discussion

Solar require plenty of sun, this roof is being constructed in Manchester.
They work better with direct sun, although less efficient if too hot. Currently getting about 150W per panel in a cloudy Manchester and better quality panels can do a much better job at converting the available light.

Considering we're installing 10,500 panels at the academy, I'd be surprised if there are none on the stadium but maybe the type of roof isn't suitable for them

The academy is already covered in them, including the Joie Stadium.

Spurs.

Looking at stadium plan, the access tunnel is at the other end of the stadium next to the away end.

I think the Spurs stadium is absolutely fantastic, the best of the new builds over the last 25 or so years in this country by a mile.

Carries an atmosphere on that wall behind the goal too, which I’ve witnessed to our detriment there a few too many times.

I got a ticket to see Led Zeppelin at Earls Court in the 1970s, there was a concrete pillar between me and the stage, those seats behind the new screen made me wonder if the occupants would be reseated or given a 10% discount for restricted view like I was.

Click on the shorts wording and logo, bottom right, and watch the video on full screen on your device.

I inadvertently held my phone up instead of side ways when I took the video. Arrrgh!

Today.

You tease the video cut off just before we could see the new screen ;-)

Don't worry, I've taken pictures of the new video screen. ;-)

And pictures and a video of the metal steps that lead to the roof walk.

I post all the pictures tomorrow.

The Etihad and the new North stand look absolutely superb.

And the sails on the exterior of the hotel don't look bad either. :-)

It doesn't have to be.

The stage can easily be erected at the South stand end of the Etihad. There's nothing to stop that happening. The stage sections come through the service tunnel, are transported across the pitch, and erected in-front of the South stand,

City aren't going to waste the new North stand, including the 8000 capacity 2nd tier, the 700 GA+ seats, the hotel rooms with balconies, the restaurant and 3rd floating tier, as well as the larger capacity bars bars inside the new North stand because the stage is at the North end of the Etihad.
current rumor is that stage will be north stand for the 2026 concerts and then flip to the south for 2027, there is some issues around power supplies which need to be installed but the production compound would be where the away fans normally go when

No doubt a stupid question and no doubt been asked before but why don't they cover all the roofs in Solar Panels?
Been asked before and the answer is pretty much the original roof was designed to be a lightweight structure hence the cablenet and thus wouldn’t support the weight of the panels Plenty have been installed around the CFA including the stadium
