F1 2025 Season

I wasn't doing a comparison between the two drivers, as it's pointless when people do that. Different eras, different engines, different regs. I'm merely pointing out that i'm not impressed with his whining from a seven-time world champion to go down the self-pity route.

There's nothing wrong with his car, and his 'throwing toys out of the pram' type comments do nothing for me. If he's really considering himself "useless", quit.
I’d rather listen to him talk about F1 than you.

Hungaroring's the worst track after Monaco.
Laughable that Monaco is a F1 venue. Forget the scenery, it must be a nightmare for the drivers and teams. Fuck all opportunity for overtaking, and I'm guessing the pit facilities are cramped in comparison to other circuits. But I'm presuming that the powers that be in Monaco are shelling out huge money to keep them on the F1 calendar.

It's just a massive piss up for the corporate partners, let's face it that's the only reason Monaco is on the calendar.

He was very lucky to have the best car for seven years and no rivals to challenge him.

Compare that to Alonso who at 44 managed to get that shitheap of an Aston Martin on the third row.
Hamilton needs to stop whinging, buck up and start performing. It's not like the car isn't good enough.
He was literally criticising his drive not the car.

Ferrari strategy team again....

Lewis is being very magnanimous blaming himself for some serious fuckkery by their tactics team.

I'm still in shock about the rise of McClaren. I watched the Amazon doc when they were in the shit and Brown came in. Now they look like the team to beat, both on and off the track.

They were trundling round at the back of the field 10 years ago with a gamble on the Honda power unit and a line up of Button and Alonso. It’s been some turnaround of fortunes when they are a customer team of Mercedes and producing a much better car than them.

The elephant in the room at McLaren was Ron Dennis. An incredible leader in his day but times change and his whole dictatorship style didn’t work in the modern era. There’s a bit in Bernie Collins’ book where she worked at McLaren and said they weren’t even allowed to have jackets on the backs of their desk chairs or personal items on their desks, it was that brutally clinical working there.

Brown totally changed the culture at McLaren for the better. It’s obviously a warmer and friendlier place to work these days which has worked wonders.

Brown and Stella deserve so much credit. Up there as arguably the best managers in world sport right now.

That Honda fiasco was ridiculous. I felt so sorry for Jenson, he deserved to have a much better car at the latter stage of his career. He should’ve won more races than he did.

Alonso…a first class bell end, the team could’ve done without that sideshow, a bad decision to bring him back.

Massive learning curve for Honda coming back into the sport and getting to grips with the hybrid engine at the time. The belief within McLaren back then being you couldn’t be constructers champions with a customer engine. They are well and truly exploding that myth at the moment.

It was a while ago now but at the time I recall my gut feeling being the marketing people had too much say in that decision. The narrative of ‘reliving the glory days’ was laid on far too thick for my liking.

And there was basically no leadership at the team.

It was around the time when Dennis came back and was the final days of Whitmarsh’s “leadership”, I think?

I quite liked Martin during the Hamilton and Button days but his time was definitely up.

Apologies if I’ve got that timeline mixed up, there was so many clusterfucks going on around that time it’s hard to keep track 10 years later haha.

Honda did eventually get it right for Red Bull and the lean years they had with McClaren provided some learning that Red Bull ultimately benefited from. The power units they have had for over the last decade are very complex and expensive.

They are being simplified for this next big rule shake up and it’s bringing the likes of Ford back into the sport. I wonder if we might see a situation where Red Bull and Racing Bulls might struggle next season with a new engine manufacturer?

All the rumours seem to suggest the Ford engine - sorry, I mean “RB Power Trains” is straight out of a clapped out old Transit.

Looks like Verstappen is sucking it up for 2026 then thinks he can swan into whatever team has the best overall package in 27.

If the other teams have any sense they’ll tell him to shove it up his arse.

You said he was whinging with us BS.
Didnt say anything about him whinging about the car not being good enough, did I.

I stated the Ferrari is capable, as Leclerc has shown, and that his pity party of saying that he is, quote "useless" and that "they (Ferrari) should think about a change of driver (in order to improve performances)" sounds like he's having a little pity party, which I found slightly annoying.

Is that okay? Or are we not allowed to criticise or react to things. Now, are we done here?

You need to stop whining, not Hamilton.
