Jack Grealish | Set to join Everton on season-long loan

Fair play ... quite a few people replied to my original post to tell me it was a fookin' stupid comparison so I'll take that one on the chin.

In which case how the fook have we managed to spend £100M plus £300k per week for years and end up with a player that is apparently nowhere near as good as fookin' Rashford.

It beggars belief.
Easy

He was overhyped and overrated by almost everyone

I saw that this morning. Pep might have given him some encouragement. Pep always said it was always down to Jack. I would love for him to stay and turn his career around. At his best not a bad player to have around, if he can recapture his hunger for the game.
At this point keep everyone. What a rebuild that is. 300k/ week to be the 3rd option on LW

Spurs now have Madison out with a long term injury and Son leaving creatively they are lacking a player. Them for a loan with obligation to buy might be a deal that could come in.
Shame for Madison, nobody deserves an ACL if it is indeed that (not seen what happened) but that leaves spurs with a big problem so why would we be willing to help them solve it for very little cost for them and very little benefit for us?

Were they to become interested in Grealish now, we know they have a hole to fill, so we use that to our advantage and get him out of the club permanently.

From the pictures, it looks like Jack has come back in ridiculous shape and ready to work, which speaks volumes for him. Whether that is enough to rebuild Pep’s trust or simply helps move him along remains to be seen.

With Claudio heading to Spain, and Grealish s HG status, it remains to be seen whether he has the time to change opinions. If he does, more power to him!

Indeed, if what we are hearing about Pep’s plans for the team this year are true, it might greatly enhance Jack’s game and make him far more valuable than he has felt over the last few seasons.

I wish him nothing but the best, as he’s clearly a well-liked lad, but he has to meld his personal life with his professional life to progress from here, and the birth of his first child MIGHT be just the thing he needed to stay away from the booze for a few more years and possibly reach his potential.

While many might say he’s no spring chicken, as he approaches 30, that can be the prime of his life given his affinity for being in immaculate shape for the season.

Good luck to him! And us!

P.S. After the way Levy treated us with Kane, he needs to be bent over if he asks about Jack!

Last season we saw the same thing. He got left out of the Euros, we expected that to be the monumental kick up the arse many suggested he needed.

Along with Haaland, was pretty much the only senior player to have a full pre-season we all expected him to smash pre-season and be the main guy we lean on early season whilst the rest play catch up, in the end he was out shone in pre-season by Bobb and found himself further down the pecking order before Bobbs injury.

No reason to expect this season we will see a new Grealish. He's had more than his fair share of chances and hasnt taken them, regardless of how much of a sound guy he is, it's time to move on from him.

If he really wants to stay he should agree to lower his wages in line with his ability and output.

He’s not left yet because of the money, he’ll refuse to go on a permanent because of the wages Everton and Turkey can offer.

Why should he? He has a contract, the club should honour contracts that they offer.

Probably true. He might want to go to the World Cup though, in which case he will need to be playing regularly with someone…it’s a long shot but might alter his thinking particularly if any of his sponsorships would be reduced.

Fucking hell the recent disrespect for Jack. It hadn’t worked out brilliantly at City but he’s done ok, got lifestyle issues which are not great, but he’s done us proud, won a treble and more, and he’s a thoroughly decent bloke. Those talking about him like he’s a **** are out of order. He’s never bad mouthed us (and yes I know he’s paid a lot but so were the likes of Mcmanacunt)

Contracts are a two way thing.

If he wants and chooses to stay, then he stays on the contract the club offered him, and he signed. Whether the contract is reflective of his ability and output is open to debate, but it's silly to suggest he should offer to lower his wages.

I do agree that his wages may well be a hindrance to him getting a move away but that's something for him and his agent to consider.

somehow i think Grealish could flourish @ Spurs + they are in need of a left winger with Son going, Kudus and Johnson for right wing

If he cared more about his career than his wages, he’d move on and lower his demands.

Obviously he doesn’t, and he’s well within his right not to, but he can’t expect to stay and play when he’s offered nothing in years.

We’ve shown him a route out to save his career, if he doesn't take it, that’s on him, but he’s fourth or fifth choice now at LW.

Everton can find £43m for Tyler Dibling, they could well have found it for Jack if they were interested. So don't now see much in that old claim. Unless they are hedging their bets on a loan, which most clubs might chance.
