Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

. It is just unfortunate that Newcastle United have been dragged into this embarrassment, brought about by Isak’s actions. The club, manager, and supporters deserve much better.

It's also a situation "brought about" by Liverpool's skullduggery in tapping him up. I'd be livid if I was a Newcastle fan.

Howe should just be a **** with Isak now, tell him to shut the fuck up because he is staying, so get back in the squad and be professional.

if he doesn't tell him his seaon is a write off as he will be in the reserves and forgotten about.

In a world cup year clubs have more power over mard **** players desperate to play to make national squads than they seem to know they have.

Wait what, the people's righteous club ? Surely not
Everyone taps up players, even us, but geordies are unhappy that gobshites like fabrizio. have been pushing the stories of players to liverpool/rags daily before bids are made.

Romano has had an Isak to liverpool to be done post daily on his socials for 6-7 weeks and has pushed the sesko to rags thing since newcastle put a bid in.
high profile media pushing narratives in favour of certain clubs just add to it

Isak is a definite to Liverpool but I just wonder if all these signings they're making might dusrupt the balance of their team especially this season. They will either piss the league again or wobble from time to time, interesting to see

We've all seen how this plays out a thousand times before.
He will move to the dippers and they will pay over a £100m but it won't be the £150m they are supposedly demanding.

Howe will say, 'We don't want to keep unhappy players..... blah, blah, blah'.

You say he won't kick off? He trained at Real Sociedad, whilst his teammates were in Singapore and now he's training alone, cos Howe isn't happy with him.

Bloke is clearly a cock.

But what this really highlights is the farcical financial rules WE objected to.
Teams finishing 16th bullying a CL qualifier when it comes to transfers and wages is a joke, especially when they've made so many people redundant.
Newcastle isn't a team that gets 25k a week; this is a team that gets over 52K a week.

Bur Newcastle voted for them despite what Khaldoon told em. So I suppose you reap what you sow.
Clubs in the bottom half of the PL buying players from clubs playing in European comps in other leagues has been happening for ages now.

West Ham and Newcastle who finished around the middle of the bottom half were signing the likes of Haller from Frankfurt and Joelinton from Hoffenheim, respectively, last decade, despite clubs in Europe wanting them. Even Watford managed to do it.

Both are fucking horrendous and Newcastle fans should be out in the streets kicking off about it.

Vlahovic ffs. He’s got hat trick against Sunderland and being at Fiorentina on loan by 2026-27 season all over him
Don't know what else Newcastle can do.

I see Isak leaving and them replacing him with Wissa and Jackson (if Jackson doesn't move to Bayern). It's obviously a massive downgrade, but they're now in a position of weakness with their hands tied behind their backs. They probably should just tell Isak to shut up and get on with it, but this could cost Eddie Howe his job.

I can't imagine the Newcastle supporters would take Isak back given the way he's conducted himself.

I still can't see Isak not going to Liverpool. Even if Newcastle don't get what they want, they can't honestly keep Isak given the situation, and Liverpool clearing the squad to make room for him. He would be more of a hindrance at this stage and will completely derail Newcastle's season.

At the same time, why should Newcastle sell without a replacement who is suitable enough? Bringing in such an inferior replacement could set the club back 5 years, especially with the likes of Chelsea and United buying top quality.

Newcastle would be far better served by retaining Isak and sending a clear message to the football world that they will not be pressured or undermined by Liverpool or by the player himself. Allowing him to leave and replacing him with an inferior option would risk significantly damaging the club’s reputation, both in terms of ambition and competitiveness.

There ought to be a clear rule in football that if a player refuses to play for the club that employs and pays their wages, that club should have the right to suspend his wages until he ends his strike. Furthermore, the player should be prohibited from representing any other team until the expiration of his existing contract. Such a measure would protect the integrity of contractual agreements and uphold fairness within the sport. Players and agents have far too much leverage in the sport.

I have great sympathy for Eddie Howe. He has handled this situation with absolute professionalism and dignity, showing nothing but class in his dealings with the media. It is just unfortunate that Newcastle United have been dragged into this embarrassment, brought about by Isak’s actions. The club, manager, and supporters deserve much better.

I wonder whether Isak will face the same reception that Jack Grealish did upon his departure from Aston Villa - despite Grealish leaving with nothing but dignity and class. I suspect not.
If Liverpool raise their bid to £150m I am still not sure that Newcastle would sell him. It is almost impossible for Newcastle to replace him at this moment. Howe's comments were very soft about Isak, but perhaps he's playing the long game conscious that he may have a role to play in managing Isak's return.

This transfer is key to 2025-26. Liverpool have set up to buy Isak and will struggle with only 4 forwards, but if they get him, they will be hard to beat. There is a lot riding on this.

I don't like what Isak did either. They are in the CL and Isak is 25. He was the talisman of their club, and flying. It's not like Kane looking to leave Spurs.

Not sell him. Set a precedent.

As it stands PIF seemingly don’t give a fuck about Newcastle, maybe they never did. The Saudi pro league is getting more attention and actively helping fund the dippers to come back with a bigger bid.

Looks like Wissa has a move to Saudi lined up also.

But then have an unhappy player on your books all season which disrupts the rest of the squad. Would the Newcastle fans take Isak back after his conduct?

When Lukaku did this at Chelsea he was made to apologise publicly to Chelsea on national television.

I don't see a world where Isak doesn't move this summer. It's too far down the line, and far too many bridges have been burnt for this not to happen. Players in this day and age have far too much power.
