Arsenal haven't retained it for 90 years?

We aren't THAT bad yet!

Two titles in 35 years.
Come on give them some slack.
I'm happy to give them all the slack they like.

Our beloved British media however, are going to be on tenterhooks urging them to retain their title.

Just think of the optics. MCFC win four Premier League titles in a row and one of the biggest legacy clubs in England fail to retain theirs.

That's not going to bode well with the media narrative.

3 seasons and we've had a change of manager for the 3rd one. He doesn't suit the slower more controlled style of play.
What he cost doesn't matter, that is between the two clubs, it is not upto the player.
His 2nd season was a marked improvement from his 1st.

I enjoy watching him play. I watch football for enjoyment. He isn't 'amazing' stats wise. Does that mean I should call him names and jump on a hate bandwagon?

“What he costs doesn’t matter” is a novel argument amongst a fan base who have spent the last decade crying about city’s spending whilst ejaculating over their Net Spend trophy.

I’ve only read the one post of yours and can tell you now either stop being a wum or fuck off.

It’s longer than that, Arsenal won the league in 89, Liverpool’s last title after that was in 1990. Last time they actually defended it was 1984-85 season, 40 odd years ago. Winning the league recently hasn’t been in their dna, retaining it was generations ago.
I stand corrected.

Well, technically I sit corrected.

I hope the media really get behind Liverpool this season and set the narrative for them to retain their title and win a glut of silverware.

Recent history shows Liverpool don't respond well to that kind of pressure.

..... and before any of you Liverpool fans remind me that you won the premier league last year, let me say this:

According to the media last season you were on for the quadruple (The Quad Squad) they named you. Yet, despite finishing top of your group in the champions league with games to spare you still managed to fall short.

Remember, Pellegrini won a double in his first season with us.

No excuses!

You haven't read or understood the conversation.
Instead you have taken a few words, out of context, and jumped down my throat. cheers.

She makes a good point though Slotter.

You can't have it both ways.

No longer can any self-respecting Liverpool fan bleat on about MCFC's spending when your club has broke the British transfer record.

Now this is going to pose quite the conundrum for you Liverpool fans and those rivals of yours from the Swamp.

The very thing you've been accusing Pep of being (cheque book manager) is no different to Slot.

The difference so far is that Pep and MCFC have got plenty of silverware to show for it and we've smashed so many British records along the way.

As I've mentioned in previous posts; this is a huge season for Slot and LFC.

It is quite irritating when people pick on a few words without context and then continue to run with it.

What I said was that the price has nothing to do with the player themselves.
Whether I enjoy a players on pitch performance, playing style and general attitude has nothing to do with price.
If fans/opposing fans want to take a swing at anyone, for a player not living up to the expectations that they have, they should aim that at the owners/directors/club staff, if they believe a club overpaid for a player.

Whatever the people, including yourself, are going on about in this thread, has no relevance to what I posted.

153 messages in less than 2 weeks…on another clubs fans forum. Impressive!
Btw, did you use to post on here under another name?

On the beach last week.
Me and the misses.
Lovely spot on the beach.
Just lay on the sunbed proper chilled.
Two families of bin dipping bastard sat in front of us.
After maximum 5 minutes my misses got up put her towel in the bag and said get up were moving.

Why we doing that I asked

If we stay here two minutes longer she predicted I would have explored and probably ended up getting nicked

There a quite a few posters, that are from other clubs fanbases, that post on here. I enjoy that.

No. As I mentioned previously, I lurked for a while, enjoyed reading the general football, particularly about the VAR debate. This thread also had/has a poster, LGWI0 or LGW10, who appeared to be accepted as a Liverpool supporter.

Get a mention and like "the shopkeeper" I appear.
A Liverpool supporter indeed, although I would never go quite as far as saying that I was "accepted", maybe just about tolerated. That mainly because I accept I am a guest here and don't go on the wind up...much.

As for the current debate. It is going to be so hard to defend the title with everyone strengthening and Liverpool possibly having half the team as newcomers. You look at past winners and there are very few that have won and then brought in so many new players. It is normally a case of adding one or two and moving on the players who are getting past their prime.

The money we have spent is huge but is offset by what has come in, but there is zero guarantee that it will work. It will also count for nothing if we get an injury at Centre Half. Still a week to go before we start another joyous season which means we have another week of nonsense in the media.

Oh there you are! tolerated, indeed, is a much better word!
I have been open and honest in all my posts. I am certainly no wind up merchant!

I am in full agreement that changing so many players, integrating them, then trying to win the league will be difficult. Hopefully they are introduced gradually. Andy Robertson style.

I was asked about being confident in Joe Gomez, as backup, which I am, quality wise but his injury record is not great.
I believe we will get a defender in before the end of the window. That could well be Guehi after the game on Sunday is out of the way.

I am thinking that, the likely top 4, will all take points from each other. If every club can stay, within reason, healthy and reaches their previous levels.

I've predicted City 85, Liverpool 84, Arse 81 and Chelsea 79.

Hilarious, it’s the same poster with 2 different names.
What!? You genuinely made me laugh.

I know that some are suspicious, of Liverpool supporters, that join this forum, you may have just taken it to a whole new level!

Good response thanks but I am dubious that most Liverpool supporters are level headed. I was on holiday in Spain somewhere when the season that Sterling joined City started. I remember three generations of a dipper family screaming and booing at him in a televised match. The other customers in the bar were pretty shocked especially at some of the vile racist crap that the grandmother was coming out with. They were fully indoctrinated cult members.
I have met a few sensible Liverpool fans but they are the exceptions.
As you say:

"I have met a few sensible Liverpool fans but they are the exceptions."

That is the experience of most of us blues I am sure

They are a cult IMO - so entitled and believing that they are some form of football royalty

How the fuck as this thread morphed into a 1 one WUM poster redscouse apologist PR campaign??

Let's not forget that we have decades of experience of utter scum behaviour of their fans

Edit:

Just popped to have a look at their thread about CITY and they are commenting on Rodri having an injury setback. Ignore all the tripe their apologist is posting on here, this is more the sort of stuff they post about us:

"Fuck them. Hope they crash and burn again this season while Guardiola has a prolonged descent into madness on the sidelines, ranting and raving about everything from referees, injuries and hopefully teams outspending poor, poor Manchester City. There is no level of misery and bad luck they can have where I’ll feel anything but galloping schadenfreude. Fuck off you horrible collection of cheating twats."

I understand your irritation and I've no doubt you have some very rational conversations with your Liverpool chums about the cost and value of your players.

However, you're on the Bluemoon forum here.

We're a MCFC fanbase and whether you like it or not we are perceived differently when it comes to spending money on players compared to yourselves, the rags, Arsenal...... in fact, with every other club in the league.

That's not paranoia, let's look at the evidence.

When the media report on your spending they refer to it as "strengthening while being on top." The media have also bent over backwards to explain to the Great British public how Liverpool FC can spend all this money in these constrictive times of FFP and PSR.

The media do something similar with the rags too, except rather than offer a detailed report of how they can spend so much money without European football; they turn a blind eye and hope that the size of the club will explain it away. Historically with them it was: "The War Chest"

When MCFC however, have the audacity to buy players and strengthen we hear a very different tone from the media. Things like: "City Slicker's Splurge" and "City Splash the Cash" or "Money Talks" all written with a hint of spite and just enough innuendo to raise the hackles of our red brethren.

Ironically, what the media don't report is that MCFC is one of the most profitable clubs in Europe.

Winning the premier league four times in a row helps with shit like that.

I don't expect you to recognise this or admit it, however, I would invite you to pay close attention to the commentary team when your new boy "Florian Wirtz" is on the ball.

Let's see if he's treated any differently to our Jack Grealish who was repeatedly referred to as: "The one hundred million pound man"

So, of course I understand your irritation for having things taken out of context.

All I would say about that is try being a City fan.

Crooked as the day is long these fuckers.
The paper trial will be there to see just how dodgy they are, but no one in power is interested in following it.
T’was ever thus.
