Palestine Action

as a Labour supporter they have me by the fingertips - any more of this and they can fuck off which is sad because our new Labour MP is quite effective
My labour MP signed/voted in the recent parliamentary letter with 221 other MPs, she replied with the following

“I would like to thank you and the hundreds of constituents who have contacted me regarding Gaza and the West Bank in the 18 months since the October 7th attacks.

I welcome the actions taken last month by the Prime Minister and the Foreign Secretary to impose targeted sanctions in response to the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

These are necessary steps that reflect our commitment to upholding international law and basic human rights. Israel has a right to defend itself against terrorism and to protect its citizens from attacks such as those carried out on October 7th. No country should be expected to tolerate such attacks against its people.

However, this cannot justify Israel’s response in the months since, which have gone far beyond what is reasonable. The humanitarian situation in Gaza is now catastrophic, innocent civilians, including children are paying the ultimate price. It cannot go on like this.

Moreover, continued military escalation and the expansion of illegal settlements in the West Bank only deepen the suffering and push the prospects for peace further out of reach. We must be clear, the protection of civilian life is not optional.

I support the Prime Minister’s decision to take action against these violations and call on all parties to work urgently toward a ceasefire and a just resolution to this conflict. The UK must continue to stand for its principles of justice, international law, and dignity for both Palestinians and Israelis.

I welcome continued communication with all constituents on the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, please do write to me as and when this situation progresses. We must continue to talk to each other and discuss how we can prevent such needless atrocities from continuing to take place.

Yours sincerely,

Marie Rimmer CBE, MP
Member of Parliament for St Helens South and Whiston”

For the first time ever I wrote to my MP about Palestine, because she acknowledged my letter and signed the letter to Starmer I will vote for her again in the local elections but at GE Starmer has failed over Gaza.
I will have to wait and see it won’t be the Conservatives or Reform

Local elections usually mean local council elections, not parliamentary ones.

my MP Luke Myer seems a decent bloke but doesn't respond to those sort of e-mails - not a good look. All the newbies need to tackle Starmer over this or become the new Tory 2019 intake and end up like Gullis - unemployable

Yet every single one of those arrested today had a choice. They could have turned up, protested, supported the plight of the Palestinians and opposed the IDF and Netanyahu and his government but no, they had to very publicly state they support a banned group.

Admit it, it’s not really about the Palestinians is it for many?
I support the people who are saying they support a proscribed organisation (even though it isn't an organisation).

Of course it's right to protest the absurdity of a bad law. To "fill the jails" is a legitimate tactic in the cause of a moral imperative. (Not supporting PA but against allowing a genocide, broadcast live.)

The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing.

Anyone who supports this absurd law, have you done anything to stop this genocide?

Sorry what’s the age limit for breaking the law ? Doesn’t matter if you’re 20 or 90, if you break the law you break the law. None of these are going to spend time in prison let’s face it.

You mean, they're not dangerous terrorists?

What have you done to protest against genocide?

I’m on the side of everyone that protests against the genocide in Gaza, but you can do that without attributing support for Palestine Action, everyone knew that.

You've seen the videos of people being arrested for placards that don't mention PA. It's a placard. Not a gun, not a bomb, and no-one's being starved or ethnically cleansed.

Feels a bit CND ish which whilst a worthy cause was largely well meaning white sandal wearing types who achieved chuff all whilst most of us just get on with making the most of life on a somewhat xxxxed up planet!

365 arrested. This Labour government is fucking shameful.
Lifelong Labour voter but never again
I was a lifelong labour voter before the last election. But I wasn't voting for genocide so I voted elsewhere (not tory)

I spoke to my mum the other day (she's 82 years old) and she said she's horrified she voted for labour after watching this genocide unfold. Shes voted labour all her life. We all have

And for what we've seen today - disabled people and the elderly arrested. Again... There was a 93 year old priest arrested the other week on the back of this nonsense.

But as long as the genocide and the occupation continues, this isnt going to stop (Because blowing 60 thousand kids up is wrong). And decent people will (rightly) speak up against this.

Never again was supposed to mean never again for everyone. Stop the genocide

Its a shitshow that wa avoidable, as soon as starmer and cooper had the moronic idea to pescribe it as a terrorist group this was coming, and lets be honest it was done because they thought it would sell well with potential reform voters after the RAF incident was used by Rice to bash labour.

And my above coment and many others here under the poscribed laws could be deemed as support for them and an arrestable offence, even though in no way have I said I support them.

this is why the governments action is reckless, this particular one is too open to interpretation as if you are in support of them, not that I am.

I mean the signs held up can have nothing to do with this group, if you choose to interperate the message dofferently, do two words action and palestine put togher the other way round now constitute a terror offence always.

Two words have been effectively banned if put together, and who decided the context of a sentence they are in? This whole sorry shit show is dangerous lurch to authoritarian anti protest society, asociety that has had civil disobedience as part of it's fabric and is a british value to stand up and be heard

They set out with the clear intention of being arrested, cameras ready, and they were duly arrested.

They got what they wanted, and I expect they’re actually very happy about it.

I know you seem to defend Labour to the hilt but i thought you’d see this for the disgrace it is. Obviously if you break the law age is pretty irrelevant. The problem is this law is complete bollocks and disgusting. Impossible to predict what nonsense law these dictators will come up with next and where it will all end.

Farage must be absolutely pissing himself. That clown will end up getting into power and Labour will only have themselves to blame. Quite some achievement to be that inept after taking over from the other mob. Within 12 months they’ve lost left wing and right wing voters and it’s difficult to see what basic plan they have for the country.

Meanwhile Gary Gammun and his army of fuckwitts are trashing Newark 'in the name of freedom'...

The local MP will probably be joining in.
That is one benefit. If an MP brings riots to their town they'll get the blame from the decent folk there.
