We've no room for another midfielder especially another foreign one. Imo not happening at all.

Thomas Frank reportedly let it be known Paqueta isn't in his plans. Most of the Paqueta to City reports seem to be coming from Brazil, which suggests it's the player & his representatives pushing for a deal.

Considering the ages of Gundog & Kovacic, I wouldn't say no. Both are in their 30s, & we'd get a good four years out of Paqueta.

At 27 years old, he'd be a better long-term investment than 35 year old Gundog & 31 year old Kovacic.

Lose two non-HG & gain one who can play 6, 8, 10 & wide left. Makes complete sense to me...

We actually are. We started last season with Doku, Grealish, Savinho, and McAtee as the likely wide players. Three of those are heading for the exit ramp. Any other players would be forced out wide to compensate.

Paqueta would be a useful addition, but the squad would be better balanced if he arrived and either Gundogan, Kovacic, or even Gonzalez departed.

But that still doesn't mean we should bring in just anybody.

He's a very talented player, but blows hot and cold too much. Got so much talent but always felt like he is a luxury player, not someone who will dig in for the team when the chips are down.

Mate, he was playing for Gollum at WHU, who were constantly battling relegation. When playing fellow relegation fodder, he was played as an 8 or 10.

However, when facing one of the PL big guns, he was deployed as a 6 in a double pivot, hence him "disappearing" from big games. That's not Paqueta's fault.

Just don't think he's quite good enough for Man City. Maybe Spurs or United, but not City. We need world beaters, not squad players.

We need players like João Neves, Vitinha. Players who can run games and win us big pots.
