Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Sell Savinho, buy Livramento, play 3-5-2 ish. Gets Marmoush in up top, gets Cherki and Foden in centrally.

We aren’t making room. We don’t have room. Seriously how do people not understand this. Ortega, savinho and echeverri need to leave to ensure we have 17 foreign slots for champions league list.
Maybe more to go....

Nah we didn’t paper talk social media talk! Man city be looking at getting the annual wage down I’ll expect with the new psr rules coming in! Yep we absolutely fine now long term better to keep it around 60/65% of wage turnover
Sorry by 'we' I meant Arsenal.

I do think the fact we're having this conversation about our 4/5/6 best CBs is pretty damning in terms of squad planning.

Lose the 21 year old with world class potential because we can't sell anyone else and bought too many other players.

well no the other 3 are better than him. as you said, Reis is a world class potential still only 19 and playing in a league where he can speak his natural language is miles better

I’d have gave him another year and expect the club were but obviously this has thrown a curve ball in. Do you give him another year to prove himself or cash in and bring a ready-made elite level winger. We didn’t appreciate Mahrez enough.

It should be obvious to most people that City were never planning on selling Savinho.

Spurs are going for him at the perfect time for them as a buying club. Savinho is coming off the back on an underwhelming season from a numbers point of view and has not nailed down a spot in our side. They can try and low ball the fee, give him a wage rise and offer him a starting position and CL football in a WC year. City’s whole approach is to let players leave if we get an acceptable fee. Savinho’s head has been turned and we’ll no doubt let him go if the fee is right.

Judging by people’s responses so far on here I do think the narrative is extremely harsh on the lad. Based on last season he’s nowhere near good enough for a regular spot in our side, but the same applies to most of the squad. The fact he averaged a goal or assist in the league just over every 3 games as a 20 year old in a new league, playing in the worst City side in many years is encouraging IMO. I think last season is the worst we’ll see of Savinho and his trajectory is only upwards. We sell him now and it’s Spurs who will benefit from that.

Considering it’s Spurs we’re selling to. I hope Pep comes out in his next press conference and publicly states that Savinho can leave for £50 million. Then when Spurs bid £50 million reject it and claim there was no agreement in writing. Then send Levy a letter on City headed paper with the message “Fuck off you bald cartel loving tosspot”.

How does it do that? You're adding an extra defender at the expense of an attacker, if you've got haaland and marmoush upfront and cherki and foden behind that means we are playing with 1 solitary midfielder?

You think the man who famously said he would have 11 midfielders if he could would adopt a formation with 1 genuine midfielder in the side?

Let's presume that would be Rodri when hes fit, where you fitting our captain into that? What about Reijnders? Not to mention having only 3 players capable of playing as a wingback and in a 3-5-2 your wingbacks become the most important players in the side.
