Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

I like him but the truth is we haven’t replaced Mahrez/Sane/Sterling goal contributions and him and Doku don’t look like being the answer at least short term. Cherki, Marmoush, Bobb, Foden seem to give us a much better chance of doing that.
Bobb has scored 3 goals in the only 32 professional games he's played. Savinho scored 9 goals in 37 la liga games.

I like Bobb, but I don't get how he's listed so often as not a far less sure bet than Savinho was.

£43m is a piss take of an offer.
The sale should be minimum £70m.
Especially to them letter writing cunts.

Tricky decision, he's a really talented player with loads of potential. Hope if we sell him we absolutely rinse Spurs.

We aren’t making room. We don’t have room. Seriously how do people not understand this. Ortega, savinho and echeverri need to leave to ensure we have 17 foreign slots for champions league list.

It only becomes making room if we bring a HG player in, like Gordon, Saka etc...but both unachievable.

if we start o play Cherki as a winger for me it's a case of here we go again.. playing somebody totally out of their position and hoping it works. Haven't we learnt anything from Grealish, Nunes and Gvardiol
Cherki played on the right for Lyon a lot so it's not completely out of position. I had a discussion with a Lyon fan about him and he thought he was better on the right than playing in the 10 position.

I'm talking about Savinho going to accommodate having all 3 30+ CBs, not Reis.

I don’t even know why people are debating your point about the squad management. There is no room in the squad for Akanji, Ortega and Kovicic or Gundogan. Three of those four players need to leave this summer.

However, I don’t think the sale of Savinho is driven by the need to solve the squad limits. He’s just had his head turned and once that happens, City tend to let players leave.

but he's not, thats the point! he's not being moved on to accomodate 3 CBS

He's could be going for a number of reasons, likely the Foreign/HQ quota for a squad.

Which btw only Akanji is classed as non-home grown.

And seriously, when is x2 30 year olds, and a 31 year old a problem classed as old or a problem.

When you've got Dias, Gvardiol, Khusanov and Reis (who we've had to loan) it's a bit of a needless surplus that creates issues elsewhere in the squad.

I think you're missing my point is we should have actually moved Akanji, which we're apparently comfortable telling Grealish and McAtee.

The review of the 23/24 season might have looked a little different TBF…

KDB picks the ball up in the centre, he looks up, he lofts it over Trippier into Savinhos path, Sav brings it down but smashes it well wide of the mark.
Go on then what has he done after that?

He's 1 goal and 1 assist in 17 league games.

People making him out to be some Lamine Yamal ffs.

He is far from the finished product and is currently no better than Savinho who is also younger.

Like I said he's being massively overrated on here.

Last year he was a pure 10. nuamah, Almeda and Fofana were the wings.

but all 3 players you are moaning about are better at this current moment in time than Khushanov & Reis.

Clearly the club have a reason why Reis has gone compared to others.

As much as I love the lad, I would rather keep savinho than mcatee
I agree. I want all academy lads coming through to smash it, especially local lads but the truth is McAtee hasn't done enough to convince me he's good enough so if we can get 40m plus a buy back and sell on clause we should sell him.

Although I found watching Savinho largely frustrating last season I don't think he's far off getting it right with more goals and assists. I think it's best we keep him another season before thinking of selling him.

Does Sav score that goal that Bobb scored vs Newcastle?

Something to think about
Does Bobb enter a team that’s fighting for relegation and reach top 3? Top assister of the league while being 19? Bro scored 1 goal and is absolute world class in some eyes - yet he doesn’t make the Norway starting squad. Nusa is already regarded as the much bigger talent and player and he is also younger than Bobb. Very suspect

Khusanov is our 3rd best CB unless stones is fully fit imo.

If you think all these sales and buys and who's staying and who's going seems perfectly aligned mate, fair enough

Im happy to take the opposite view.
