UEFA demote Palace to the Conference League (pg11) | Forest promoted to the Europa League

They absolutely haven’t. The assessment date was 1 March for the following season. At that date John Testor owned shares and was a controlling director at Palace and Lyon. It was three months later that he disposed of the shares in Palace. It is clear cut. The Forest owner put his shares in a trust in February to satisfy the same condition. Palace simply screwed up.
I've watched seemingly credible posts claiming the Palace wasn't able to comply with regulations due to factors specific to their side... perhaps these posts were bullshit.

Either way, WTF!?!?

The Europa Conference is an utter joke. I literally would not be able to place half the participating clubs on a map of Europe. The Antarctica Conference would be just about as credible.
So, teams from smaller countries should be exempt from participating in European competition because you can't be arsed to learn a little geography?

I wouldn't mind a Thursday night cup run.

Swapping Athletici Madrid for Astana.

Cheaper away days against Borat FC and SC Latvian Farmers.

It’s probably not bullshit, more the perspective or sympathy of the posters. The UEFA compliance date is the same each year, it wasn’t a secret. There might have been reasons, such as the financial problems at Lyon, that made it difficult for Testor to get rid of one club or the other, but the fact undisputed is he didn’t. I don’t care for UEFA anymore than any city fan, but they are not responsible if an owner gets himself into a jam with multi club ownership. We managed to structure it correctly, likewise Forest and the various Red Bull clubs. CAS have dismissed the appeal totally, referencing Testor’s ‘decisive control’ at both clubs.

CAS were never going to overturn this, their argument was always that the rules are a farce, which they absolutely are, but that doesnt matter. Those are the rules and CAS simply ensures that the rules are followed.

Palace can't have had any real expectations of anything other than this outcome.

Expect the rules to be changed imminently to avoid this happening again. Ridiculous that the deadline for compliance is before the end of the season and therefore before you would know whether you're about to breach the rules.

I feel sorry for the Palace supporters, but not for the chairman and board, as it was their fuck up / oversight* which led to this.

If there’s even the remotest possibility that such a thing could happen, take the necessary measures to ensure that the club has covered all eventualities.

It was bloody stupid not to ensure that the correct procedures had been followed.

I haven't followed all of the intracites of this... but for me... Palace have been screwed.
Going on the wording of the judgement, I'd say no. Textor needed to get rid of one of the clubs by the assessment date. He didn't do it. Is it tough on the players and fans? I suppose you can say it is. But they know where to look if they want to find out who's to blame. Of course, social media has exploded with the "B-b-b-but, what about Citeh?" agenda. If those fools can't spend 30 seconds on Google to find the, er, "massive" differences in the cases, not least the burden of proof, I'm not going to get involved in futile arguments with those clowns.

I do enough of that on here!

Only saw one outcome!
Palace might have a chance of winning that lower league competition, but there doesn't appear any reward for doing so. Provided they let Forest in and another team who play in red, I can live with it!
